SilverSport A41 Transmission Install Part 1

-

Obviously I am a dummy when it comes to trying to program the transmission. I got a little ways, but I am very open to any suggestions you guys have in regards to programming this Silver Sport 4L65E.

I skipped Silversport, and installed a Performabuilt 4L60E with an aftermarket 6-pinion 2.76 to 1 first gear ratio. This eliminates the wide 1st(3.07)to 2nd gear ratio issue with the 4L60. There are multiple hard part upgrades available as well to suit your horsepower needs. The one I had built holds 900hp, and there is one level higher than this that holds 1100hp.

Be mindful that when he says the Holley Terminator system is plug and play, that he is referring to the Holley Terminator Max, which has the transmission controller built into it.

I modified my torsion bar crossmember and built my own transmission crossmember. The speedometer uses a Speedhut speedometer driver that picks up the output from the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) from the transmission, so no cables.

I used an SFI rated bellhousing that mates to the Magnum engine I'm running, which also fits the newer GEN 3 Hemi's. The last photo is kind of hard to make out, but it shows the two plate style transmission coolers I installed instead of one big one.

I cannot disagree that they are a good company. I've talked to them a couple of times. Although they don't offer what I'm looking for, they were very open to possibilities in the future. Usually a company will just shut you down but they didn't do that. Or maybe they were putting on a good front. LOL I didn't get that impression, though.

When SilverSport shipped mine, it came with a standalone controller for the Transmission from F.A.S.T. EZ Tune.

I believe they told me mine also has the 2.76 First Gear if I remember correctly. It’s been a while since I’ve had it in there, I would have to go back and double check.

On my setup, the TPS has to have a minimum voltage of .5 reading before it opens, in order to tell the system to activate. Might want to check that to make sure you have the minimum voltage and then go back do your setup.

My setup was pretty straightforward… I told it my speedo output pulses, gear ratio and tire height and then let it calculate and then turn off the key and go drive it.

My trans has 3 switches, I can do a Tow Mode, Performance Mode and then Manual mode (which I use the Paddle shifters for)

The TCC mode you referred to is the same as Tow Mode on most cars or trucks, you can turn it off or on to suit your needs… you can also adjust it to where it will not activate at either a certain RPM or MPH depending on your software.

It took some setting up and tweaking as it does with most computer controlled systems. They’re not plug and play like they lead you to believe.

Hope you get it sorted out! Once you do, you’ll love it!

I have a mild 360 w/3.55 rear and 26” tires and I get about 16-17 hwy and that’s cruising 70mph @1800 rpm’s running the AC!
