It is IMPORTANT to know what kind of box you have. Not all 4 pin boxes have 4 pins. Some have a 5th pin, but not connected. Only way to tell is use an ohmeter and see if the 5th pin is connected

A 5 pin box MUST use a 4 terminal resistor

A 4 pin box CAN use EITHER a 4 or 2 terminal resistor. If you wire with a 4 terminal resistor, you can then use either box
