slant 6 to big block plain and simple

Mr Lusk, I have always respected your opinion. But if you don't mind, may I ask what you have against the conversion mounts?

DRivers side mount is weak and pretty much an abortion when your done.

What I have against the conversion mounts is the cost and what they make you do to the motor mount saddle on the driver side (spool mount 73-76 k-member). I'd just rather build a DC k-member and be done with it. If I didn't have a late k-member I'd probably build my own mounts...

I looked at your k frame conversion. So, am I correct in that all that has to be done is move the motor mount perches back the described amount and cut the small portion off the steering bracket? I'm no expert fabricator, but that seems so simple to do, that anyone could do it. Nice writeup. Is there a particular spot where to cut the perches as far as height is concerned? I saw your marks, but unless I missed it, I didn't see any reference measurements for where vertically to make the cuts.

That cut is not real critical as long as it is below the mount when it is installed. I did make a video that shows it better.
