Small block keeps blowing the oil filter off?

what kind of oil pressure does that thing have?

Kept blowing off at idle. Was fluctuating between 25-40. Probably need a new pump anyway. When I changed the engine oil looked like the guy I got it from never changed it.

I've had an oil filter gasket stuck to the block. When putting on new oil filter it has 2 gaskets on it now. That will blow oil everywhere.

Superformance makes a very nice gasket kit for the plate/filter boss. Yes, be careful to remove the old gasket. It's easy to miss.

I installed a hi volume pump and 15W40, and hyup the filter lifted at 5000 during a rally-cross event, and smoke exploded from under the hood.
After it cooled, it was fine so I drove home an hour.

I removed the plate (no 90* adapter), grabbed a second plate, fastened them together with gaskets in place, then drilled 4 more holes, and bolted it all together. Finally, I installed 10W30 oil.
That was over 20 years ago, and it never did it again.
