Smart Phone To Dumb Phone Question.

-
Most basic phones these days are pretty advanced. I still use one too. My reason is that I'm forced to sit in front of a computer for work on most days, so having a basic flip phone for me is a way to 'disconnect' when I'm not at work.

Your contacts should be saved using some sort of cloud storage. The flip phone you get should come with directions on how to sync with your cloud and upload your contacts. At least, that's how it's worked for me. It's a pretty simple process, but I've got Verizon. It may vary by carrier.

Are you able to access your contact list/cloud storage online?

Yes, I can access it on my google account.

The new basic phone will very likely come with directions on how to upload the contacts. I'm not exactly sure of the verbiage, but basically there'll be a function on the new phone to sync with the cloud, at which point it'll pull all of those contacts in. At least that's how my last few flip phones have worked.

Apple beats Android in their SMS technology. Kinda beating up the thread, sorry RRR.

Dude you just got a smart phone within the last year, no F'n way you can say android junk.
iPhone schmiphone.....I thought you were a rebel lol

I am a rebel. But when it comes to phones and computers I use Apple. Way easier, way more intuitive and far less garbage.

Not a chance after the **** Apple got caught doing with their software update, slowing down older phones a couple of years ago.
Exactly. No problem like that with a Samsung. I've been anti-Apple for a long time and it's basically their closed architecture on everything.

So RRR, Did you get the info you were hoping for?
I guess I'll only be able to answer that when I get my flip phone and see if I can swap my contacts over. If all else fails, I'll just do a few a night until they're done. I do thank everyone for their input.

RRR programming his new phone.
Asshole 1
Asshole 2
Asshole 3
LOL That's probably how everybody programs me in. If it's someone from this site, I put their name in along with their screen name.

Flip phones are good for the one handed answering aspect along with the cradling effect.

Rob, all you need is an average 10 year old. They all know about this tech stuff.

Smartphones, smart TVs, smart lighting and now smart water? Our electronic gadgets are smarter than we are. I laugh every time I see smart water advertised, dumb people will buy anything

I think that people depend way to much on their technical gadgets. Last year some friends of ours had family over for Thanksgiving dinner and the parents and daughter were on their stuip laptops most of the time that they were there.
