We got about 2-3" of snow overnight. Of course no one was ready for it, so all of the freeways are tied up due to black ice and spinout accidents. How can people forget how to drive when its slick out in only 9 months? Happens every year. Well, I got the old Toro fired up last weekend, so come on, Mother Nature, Bring it on!

LOL yeah it always amazes me how bad the first couple snows are on drivers here too.

P-P-S-S-T-T..........

It ain't the snow and it ain't just the driver's up north. There are stupid drivers everywhere all the time!

Thats right. We see it everytime it rains here. Its like ACME A$$hole, just add water. I remember in 89 when it snowed here. You'd have thought it was the beginning of the end.:-D

It was 31 deg here this morning and skys were clear but it's clouding up for rain the next couple of days and if the temp works the way it could we might get some snow. Wouldn't suprise me a bit. Deer season opens sat and the high is suppose to be in the 30's so the temp at night could be right for a good one. Saw a few flakes sat on the way to Springfield so it's time wheather we like it or not. Won't bother me if we don't get any.

Was close to 80 here in SoCal on Saturday. Surprise rain Saturday night left a few inches of snow in the local mountains above 6000-feet and temps in the high 60's on Sunday down in the flatlands where I live.

we had gotten some snow on saturday, but its startin to melt a lil bit, to bad it wont go away though :( i dont wanna park my rides for the winter

We lucked out here so far, so no case of the drivers learning to drive again. I can't believe they forget how to drive in it as we usually have it from nov or dec to april, but it never fails that they have to learn to adapt to the conditions every year go figure!

No snow yet. We get these Yankee idiots who say "I've driven in snow all my life, yada, yada". Here in metro DC, we don't get cold crunchy snow. Our snow is very high in moisture and rapidly turns to ice on the roads with the snow laying over it. Their the ones that go in the ditch first. I don't care who you are, you can't drive on ice.

lol i can relate to that tom. i work for the state road department here in cali plowing snow in the mountains in the winter, and im still amazed how some of these people get drivers licenses.

Gobs of the white crap coming out of the sky...Ick! (Kid loves it, though)
:SAD couldn't upload photo now, try later

time for the blizacks and the sti. It is still around 60 here but I hear the pass has gotten a dusting or two

we had out first snow towards the begining of October !! it was a freakish storm and the snow only lasted like 2 hours...... still not ready for that crap yet though..... C'mon Springtime !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

TOMT966. Back when I lived in Cincinnati, I had THE perfect ride.......

It was a 76 1 ton 454 Dually 6x6 with studded tires all around and it was a wrecker! I could go anywhere and if I couldn't, I could winch myself out.

You've heard of "Back in the day"? Well back in the day when i use to work in Prudhoe Bay in the old oil patch, on one of my stints I was the support Superintendant for a pipeline project and we were the guys that built the ice roads across the tundra and we maintained them for access to the lines. Also was in charge of the trades, skid trucks and the propane for pre heating the welds. We would pull water trucks with dozers across the tundra as they let out water. This would make a very solid base after feezing and after we bladed it smooth following several trips with the water trucks then the graders these babies were smooth, flat and straight. We were building 70 MPH roads out of ice and snow. You planned your moves several miles ahead. We use to run the roads in the winter time from Fairbanks to Anchorage when i worked for the Alaska Railroad and we would run speeds of 70 plus with studs. No idiots were on the road and it was packed snow mostly. Any of you guys ever work up on the slope? Man that was fun.
