Well, my son and I got thru round one
in Stock at Mopar Nationals yesterday.

I put up a .002 and could have run right on
my dial with a one or two thou over if I had need
to do so.

It is hard to dial very soft when many of the cars are
30 to 40 MPH faster.

That's great! Even better that you're still in the game Jon. Keep banging away all the way to the finals! 65

Well I won again Today.

Next Round tomorrow.

I got to the Final Four in Stock at the
Winternationals and World Final Last year
(Plus Bakersfield). Maybe it might be my turn
this time?

Tomorrow morning, I will face Jody Lang
a multiple times world and division champion
and one of the best Stock/Superstock Racers that ever
put on a Helmet. He is a mentor and hero to my
son and help him several times.

I did succeed against him last year against him
at the Winternationals, but it took a .00 and a near
perfect pass to get it done.

It will be a battle of two late 70s small block Station
Wagons that have both be in the 11s at Sea Level when
needed to do so.

Full Name of this National Race in Las Vegas is
"Dodge NHRA Las Vegas Nationals presented by Direct Connection".

It is the next to last of the National Races in the NHRA Season this
year.
Thank you.
How come nobody announced it here ? I didn't see anything about this event anywhere online.

Well. I took the stripe in a diving dual
with Jody. But I dialed 12.37 and put up
a 12.367 and broke out by 3 Thousands.

We took the 904 Protrans on Jon's Demon apart
and it had a couple of issues. The hub was cracked
on the converter and the one way clutch had some play
and was difficult to turn in the direction that was supposeelld
to free wheel. Also the spring steel return piece in the front clutches
was broken and bacly warped as well.

We went from a 1.41 @ 60 to a 1.47 and the car shock like crazy
so badly Jon shut it off.

Would those Damaged part cause the shutter? I was expecting the
plantaries to be damaged but the were perfect. That is a good thing as
they are $1,800 for the custom ones we have made. I am wondering, does
anyone have an opinion?

Base Price is around $235,000.00
Probably well equipped with the factory installed options
need to race competitively and with paint:

About $260,000.00 or a bit more depending on the graphics
chosen.

We will NOT be getting one unless they Direct Connection gives
us some help.

BTW: In 1968 My Factory LO Hemi Dart cost me $4,224.00!
I picked up a Spare LO Rolling with the Dana and 4 Speed
less engine the same year for $1,000.00

I am amazed how many folks lay out the fortune all the factory
race cars cost plus the money to prep then!

However, fortunately many of them have fat wallets, but many are
skinny on racing talent.

These car with their modern electronics virtually drive themselves
and print identical time slips run after run!

Cracked converter hub on a 904? You don’t run the ”flat” pump gears???

….and “spring steel return piece”. Belleville spring in the forward drum? Just trying to visualize this, thats all :)
