I'm having some Festoon holders made out of Nylon 12 ($) and 2 other materials, one is good to 150C (302F) ($$$) and the other is good to 250C (482F) ($$$$$$)

update to follow.

Dana, Ive been using nylon in all of my 3d prints lately. Sometimes carbon enfused, sometimes not. Can attest to its durability. I printed a run of clyinder head half moons for a Nissan engines I did a VVT delete on. High temp resistance and most chemicals. You should be satisfied with your results.

I was at the Pick N Pull in Rocklin, CA today.
There was a 65 Valiant 2 door post and a 64-65 Dart 4 door. Both were mostly complete. Slant six, 904, 7.25 axles
NO I will not pull parts to sell. I only state this here to alert others so that they can go and pull the parts themselves.
Please, DO NOT ask any questions about these cars in this thread, Send me a PM but know that I am not buying, I am not selling, I am only letting FABO members know what I saw.

So far the black nylon (12) festoon holder and a 211-2 bulb has been burning for 30 minutes.

No I'll effects.

The festoon holder is a bit more flexible but not like the white one I started with.

Next will be the medium temp UV cured.

My test setup!

Proper lense on the front side, the stainless dish is to simulate the closed area between body and the inner trim.

I will repeat the test in a natural orientation later I was just in a hurry.

Does anyone know if there was originally fiberglass insulation in contact with the festoon holder sandwiched between the rear quarter?

And what did I find...

I couldn't resist so I made this

There was JUST enough of the OEM piece to get all the dimensions I needed!

Its not ready for prime time but it's close! If I can have it made in plastic that can take the heat I'll make a few.

I have a call into M&H to see if they still make and sell the Festoon Lamp holders for 67-69 Barracuda courtesy lamps.

UPDATE...

Looks like M&H does not sell only the Festoon lamp holder separately, below is their response to my inquiry:

"Thank you for the inquiry. We now offer the harness itself for the 67-69 Barracuda that goes to the courtesy light and fuel sender on 1967 (part 44129 $63.00) and just the courtesy light on 1968-1969 (part 41449 $47.00)...."

So maybe there is a market for just the Festoon lamp holder???

BTW I'm going to look into making an adapter to use a modern Festoon holder as the Festoon terminal of the 60's is probably is not available. I have a lens coming and HOPEFULLY there is the metal trim piece in the wrecking yard I'm headed to Wednesday, weather permitting. I know where several are in another yard BUT that yard thinks some of their parts are gold plated.
G'day mate,

I came across your post from here in Australia and I’m glad I did! I work with an older bloke who owns a ’69 Barracuda, and he’s asked me if I could remake this exact part in Fusion and 3D print it (his words weren’t quite that technical haha).

To be honest, I had no idea what to even search for online, but after hours of digging I finally stumbled across this forum. I’m still very much an amateur with Fusion - up until now I’ve only designed some basic things - so this is a bit of new territory for me.

Any chance you could share the .stl file with me, or maybe even post a kit out to Brisbane, Australia? More than happy to grab a couple if that works for you.

Amazing progress you've made on this mate, great to see forums like this are still so active.

Hooroo mate, off to feed the kangaroos.

Now that we have a 3D printing forum, I will move this one over there.

I'm not interested in adding to the 3D print forum.

The stuff I make is the part, how it gets made is of no concern.

I'm interested in making part that are not reproduced and for a reasonable price.

Please do not move my posts in the future.

Pm m me and perhaps we can work something out. I just tested my latest festune bulb holder, I forgot it and let the bulb burn for over an hour.

I'm very happy with the results.
