Ok I think I messed up somewhere. I went to put my 440 in and and its not going in there right and wont level out. Do I have a slant 6 k member or small block k member?

I believe the v8 crossmember has motor mount perches that are about 14 inches apart.

which engine mounts are you trying to use? i mean are you useing the shumocker(spelling) engine mounts? if so you have to more of less cut the top off the old motor mount and redrill a new hole in the drivers side k-frame.i tryed to take a pic of my big block 73 dart but the pics did not come out very good. also yours looks like a small block k-frame to me. the 74 slant six i just pulled out of my 74 duster the left side mount sits a lot higher than the right side.Mopar65

It looks like a 6 member, You'll need the 6 too BB mounts, the pass side mount will be further back (towards the firewall) then the Driver side.

here is a pic of a slant six k-frame that i just pulled out of my 74 duster.the second pic if your useing the shumocker mounts is about wear you would drill your new hole.now that is a slant six k-frame and i the kit i used was for a small block k-frame. so i might be off a little bit wear the hole goes.thanks Mopar65

What number in vin tells what the original motor was? And what is the number for s6 and what one for B?

Ok I got it thanks abodyjoe. I didn't even think about going to schumacker site.
Just for the interested mine is a small block k-member

Yep its a 318 k-frame. You can cut the mounts and move them rearward per bigblockdart.com and use c-body B mounts. Mine is a Direct Connection piece but it is done just like that.

If you hit the search at the top of the page you can find a direct link to the thread!

As you found it's a v8 K frame.

The easiest way for me to tell. The pass side saddle on a v8 lines up close with idler arm mount, /6 is lined up closer to the a-arm pivot.
