Gary Larsons "Far Side" is a very funny strip and I respect your opinion,but you cant really compare the two works. The Far Side was always absurd and intended to be funny,Calvin & Hobbes on the other hand could be very existential,witty,cynical and philosophical at times and Bill Watterson was a much better artist. (In my opinion).

Personally, I liked them both. This, however, is my favorite "Far Side" cartoon:

When I first read that one, I laughed for probably a good five minutes. Hours later, if I thought about it, I started laughing again. I guess I'm just easily amused.

I always liked (and probably identified somewhat) with Calvin...
I did like the Far Side also, as well as a lot of Dilbert. My favorite Dilbert was when Dogbert was studying people on the golf course...

I remember reading these when they were "current".

The philosiphy questions and are incredible, and seem to dare you to introspect.


My uncle explained MPH vs RPM to me with the record player example.

When that one came out, I clipped it and gave it to him.
