Check out the timing gears on the 331 industrial Hemi . This is here to build for a vintage dragster reconstruction.

The aluminum Hemi is from Bobby Toth's Vega nostalgia nitro funny car "Time bomb" My son has done the machine work on several of these Hemis over the years. There were two here . One with a big window in the side. They'll get new sleeves after square decking and line bored. The sleeves are installed .003 above the deck.

Also a trans rebuilt. everything bought at Brewers from Dan. I like the new syncros with the slots cut in them . The braking feels much stronger. The trans is for the Todds yellow Barracuda which being changed to 4 speed and is in pieces right down to the firewall. engine , Trans, windshield and dash are removed as is the complete front suspension. When I get over to his shop with my camera I'll get some pics.

Todds car was a complete disaster hobbled together for resale. But the body is really nice.

I dont get it. So on a 331 industrial hemi the cam spins the opposite direction of the crank? What am I missing?

I learn something and see new things everyday. I usually get stuck cleaning parts or disassembling. But I am always taking peaks at things that strikes my curiosity. Last night we went to a old engine shop for Head studs. The guy had a box full of adjustable rockers. He left my son take 16 adjusters with jam nuts.

They were discussing a Mega block that was there . It is getting a torrington Style thrust bearing for use with a slipper clutch. I couldn't even become part of that engineering conversation. But I was amazed and occupied at all the race heads , blocks and parts new. This guy knew what was coming and bought all the race parts up and has them stored.

We didn't get out of there until very very late. I'm going back to get all those rockers . $175 for a box of 48 I didn't recognize them and he didn't know what they were for. Went through our parts and discovered they are Max Wedge. Even if I never use the rockers the adjusters are worth the price.

I just walked to the shop to see what he is doing so he could set me up with resurfacing rockers. He is baby sitting his daughter so I grabbed some pictures.

There are so many motors of all brands Some I don't even know what they are. But I did recognize a Ford flat head. Small block Dart block, Pontiac, poly 318, BB mopar, FE ford, Subaru. There are so many engines here in the trailers and on pallets at the other shop I'll be dead before he gets to them. But he don't have to worry about a job,

Cool stuff. Back in late 80'2 early 90's. A guy I know bought 2 luggage carriers from Logan Airport that were Industrial Hemi powered at Auction for a couple of hundred bucks!

This 331 is getting dressed out with everything including a roots style blower. That cam is already in the metal bin. I hope they fire it on the run stand. I'll get a video.

The nitro motor won't be fired until its in the car. I love the nitro Engines you can wash your hands at the zoomies with all the moisture coming out. Nothing smells better then Methanol or Nitro methane. It takes some getting use to but I believe its good for your health. LOL

Well, if it isn't at least you die happy!

AV gas exhaust smells pretty nice too. My cousin's '48 Anglia dragster.

Chev did the same thing on some truck engines. Those, and reverse marine engines can really "eff you up" if you dont realize what you have........reverse grind cams, etc.

BB Chev truck 366 cid reverse cam drive

68’ 366 Chevy reverse rotation Cam firing order
