Just got upstairs out of "the bunker." Fixed some lunch turned on the tube and PBS has something on there about space, and the junk out there past Pluto. "They" were talking about "discovering" something that they think they discovered so they can direct Hubble out that way "before the end of life of the telescope."
And this unidentified "scientist" comes up with "It's important to use it before it's predicted end of life BECAUSE IT COULD FAIL."
REALLY? You don't think that complicated big huge piece of machinery could have failed right on the launch pad? --Or two feet OFF the pad? --or an hour/ week / month etc etc later?
I thought that was hilarious.........that a piece of machinery, espectially space electronics.........would kindly wait until after it's predicted "end of service" BEFORE FAILING LOLOL
