Just got upstairs out of "the bunker." Fixed some lunch turned on the tube and PBS has something on there about space, and the junk out there past Pluto. "They" were talking about "discovering" something that they think they discovered so they can direct Hubble out that way "before the end of life of the telescope."

And this unidentified "scientist" comes up with "It's important to use it before it's predicted end of life BECAUSE IT COULD FAIL."

REALLY? You don't think that complicated big huge piece of machinery could have failed right on the launch pad? --Or two feet OFF the pad? --or an hour/ week / month etc etc later?

I thought that was hilarious.........that a piece of machinery, espectially space electronics.........would kindly wait until after it's predicted "end of service" BEFORE FAILING LOLOL

What will fail, power source? Or hee hee, run out of film?

Hubble has been failing since it was launched until NASA stuck a Band-Aid on it.

Looking back wouldn’t change a thing looking forward hopefully experienced enough to make better choices LOL. Doubt it LOL
If we only had a crystal ball but you're right, if things were different we may not have our kids and grandkids as we know them. They are so precious.

Yup it’s those past experiences that make us who we are. Like riding in my pals 69 dart stick car when he stomped a fire chicken was awesome sold on darts had to have one

My friend had a 76 Pontiac Firenza. Bought it brand new. 4 cylinder 4 speed.
He literally rebuilt the whole car. Got a 2200CC engine bored and stroked it and got some nice power out of it. Lowered it and put on flared fenders and 1/4 panels with big fat tires. Painted Red and White and a blue Stripe down the middle. Sounded sinister. He had lots of fun with it. A 77 Firebird 455 pulled up beside him and Kevin blue him right out the water. 2 days later he saw the same car with For Sale signs on it. I saw him on the street one day and he saw me and he downshifted it and did a donut right in the middle of the street. He went through the speed traps at Watkins-Glenn at 130 mph. This isn't his car but what the car looked like.

Guessing he had some explaining to do after the 130 mph deal eh. Don’t know what my dart would do from factory would put the needle down and pull 6200rpm with around 2.94 or 3.00 gear Things happen real quick at that speed.

Watkins'-Glenn is a race track so no explaining necessary. Your rear gears would have been 3:23 sure-grip wouldn't they? Some cars you don't drive you just aim them lol.
