Too much to list being cooked up here at the Hames Compound in Narragansett. 3 turkeys for starters. Who has a good brine recipe? I plan to brine it, stuff it with oyster stuffing and cook it on the weber.

Anything put in front of me :-D "Not coconut" Yuck!!
Ham Turkey sweet potatoes green been casserole scalloped Potatoes, I will be doing my perfected Pork Tenderloins marinated and slow cooked on the grill so even a grandma can enjoy them with a spoon :happy10:
Then sneak out to the car for a shot of Tequila :-D

I get to be the main cook for Thanksgiving - and I enjoy it.
Of course there will be herbed roast Turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and giblet gravy, my special sweet potatoes (great recipe), probably peas for a green veggie, and my wife's fresh baked rolls. Dessert's going to be a little different this year - rather than the usual pies we're going to make fresh baked apples with cinnamon/raisin/brown sugar "stuffing" and a struesel topping.
Always my wife's favorite holiday. I've tried to do a bbq bird in the past but always shot down in favor of the traditional roast turkey. I save the bbq turkey for Spring.

that's what we are having. Having a get together in the garage with family.

We are not having thanksgiving this year sadly. I think I may just pop a turkey pot pie in the oven and call it thanksgiving dinner. :-D.

I really should be giving thanks to FABO really, without it, I wouldn't be living the dream and have gotten so much help. Thanks again FABO!!!
And to all, have a happy thanksgiving!!

Nothing special for us, it is just the 2 of us. Wifes family is all 1500 mile away and I have no family, except for you guys of course, and for that I am truly Thankful. Neighbor is having there Thanksgiving Dinner on Saturday, that is when they will have there grandkids. They were kind enough to invite us, will be having prime rib. Somehow I have managed to live 44 years with out having it. Hope everybody has a Great day.....

Go to Stanleys Meats and pick up some kielbasa and sauerkraut, if it has the same effect on you as it does on me your family will probably evict you to the garage...

Deviled eggs and 3 bean cassoral, planning on handing out respirators?? I know if I was there I would be clearing out the room :fart:

Might go out to dinner with friends but nothing's written in stone yet. I have to be on call the entire holiday and weekend.

Deep fried bird as I have made for the last 12 years. Last year we took it to the hospital for dad and this year we have him at home.

I did see a duck at Kroger when shopping and thought about buying it. Anyone have tips on cooking a duck.

I figure the Pilgrims had plenty of seafood as they were close to the ocean and since I moved up to the NorthWest I celebrate my Thanksgiving by eating what comes from here and since I do all the cooking and baking, whats better then making everything I like :)

Dungeness crabs, clam bisque, sweet potatoes, corn on the cob, homemade bread, apple cider

Deep fry the Duck, that's what the Chinese do and they are great cooks, ever hear of "Peking Duck" well that's how its done :)

Hey Mark, when I worked at the Lord Fox restaurant in Ann Arbor, I cooked a duck or 2000!!! We would rub the inside and outside with a mixture of garlic, salt and pepper, line a roasting pan with carrots, celery and onions and roast them at 450* until the duck was crisp on the outside. The duck will render so much fat that it will also poach the carrots and celery in duck grease. We still talk about how good those "duck carrots" are!!! We never ate the duck, but would cool it, split it in half and wrap it in cellophane, then when we had an order you would put it on a hot plate in the salamander for 5-10 minutes, then cover it with Michigan dried cherry sauce and send it out. We sold a ton of those in the time I worked there!!! Happy Thanksgiving all!!! Geof
