Who said there was no rust on California cars. Leaking antifreeze was the culprit.
Picture 1 you can see the damage.
Picture 2+3 keep cutting till the @#$& rust all gone.
Picture 4 start to weld
Picture 5 all done.
all that is left is to clean up the rest of the floor.

There was a few blow throughs with the mig welding, how should i deal with this?

Getting ready to do drivers and passenger fronts on my CA 65 Dart wagon - got to love the leaking wiper seals. Had to replace all 4 pans in my 65 Dart GT convert but that was an East Coast car.

Did the same job on mine. I wonder if those pictures you shot was factory assembly pictures......! Seems like most of the early A-bodies had those rust issues.

Clean and Prep pans and paint with POR-15 silver

I have been putting it off for to long, time to get dirty. I came apart way too easy, i am sure that the upper control arm bushing should not come out in three pieces. Start with new lower ball joints ad work my way back up.

The car was stored in a barn, the mice found a great home. when the shop went to strip the seats, the stnk was so bad they had to do it out side. the metal frames where cleaned and painted, new burlap and foam was installed. I went with two tone vinyl instad of fabric incerts. The shop was able to reuse the door panels and recoved them as well.

Last year for my birthday I was given enough money to buy candy canes for the Dart. It took a while but I finally installed them.
