starter motor cooling

hello, not sure if this be here or electrical, any suggestions on keeping the starter motor cool my car a 440 ci with shumacker headers and im using a hi torq mini starter,i wrapped single sheet of the stuff plumbers use when doing soldered joints on pipes with a blowlamp rated at 600 oc wondering if trying to fabricate thin ally sheet to slide in there somwhere but vvvveeery tite!

Yes a heat shield will work

You could probably get a good sheet of heat sheild from the wreckers,usually on floor above catilitic convertor.Cut to size,maybe use large hose clamp for wrapping the starter.Just a thought.:study:
