Steering column ground wire

This wire was with my column parts and I don't remember where it was connected
Any help would be wonderful

It goes between one of the 3 bolts with (white) plastic slides where column bolts to dash, - the other end goes to one of 4 bolts of column mount bracket, - to ground the column.
Hope that make sense .
 
What Inertia said. Because the column is isolated from ground by the slides, you need a ground wire to make the connection from the column housing to the dash frame via the bracket. On mine I think it's the bolt nearest the steering wheel on the passenger side of the column, but it doesn't really matter which one.
 
...........And further, you need one, because, on cars with a column mount shift quadrant, for the lamp, and also for the horn button. I don't remember for sure on the "key in" lamp
