Anyone know the size/pitch of the steering column nut that holds down the wheel on a 74 duster ? or better yet, where I can get a new nut ?

Thanks,

Trevor.

That's pretty close to what I measured with some calipers. Thanks for adding to the theory that it's correct.

Don't know, but make sure it is self-locking nut! They have distorted threads, or sometimes a plastic insert. I would imagine they are still pretty easy to find in the junkyards. I doubt it the nut is unique to Mopars either.

I have those correct nuts in good used condition, PM me

Well, it was a 9/16-18. Bought a die and nut from Ace Hardware, and worked out like a champ. They even had one with the nylon ring.

Thanks all for the help.

I'll be steering this thing again in no time.

Ace hardware had 9/16 nuts? Not in this freckin town.

Same here nobody in town had them.
Ended up ordering a box of 20 from McMaster-Carr, so if anybody needs one pm me.
