IIRC the coupling is "keyed" and will only go on one way.

Shaft on the coupling. Put guts on and slide them in the pot coupling. Then put in the dowel pin to keep the guts from sliding out.

Coupling on to box. Find master spline then slide on till you can get the roll pin in it's hole.

Reassemble the coupler onto the column shaft making sure the shoes are installed correctly. If they're 90 degrees off, there will be lots of slop in the steering. Good luck getting the boot retainer cover crimped tight so it doesn't fall off! The coupler splines are keyed to the input shaft of the steering gear so it will only go on one way. Just line up the master splines and it should slide on easily. Once you slide it down into position, drive the roll pin through the hole to lock in in place.
