I have a 70 Duster, I am trying to disconnect the coupler from the steering box to get the column out...how do you disconnect this?

I am new to these cars so any help you can provide would be much appreciated!

There is a pin in the coupler where it connets to the steering box. You need to take a punch and pound it out. Or there is a pin inside the coupler on the other end that keeps the guts from sliding out. You could push that pin out from the inside of the coupler out and that will free it. But be ready to catch the guts when you pull the coulmn out.

Hop that helped.

Good luck.

I got it out...I figured that pin is what held it in but I did not want to screw things up so I thought I'd ask first...

Thanks for the help everybody!
