Interesting that the vent line goes to nowhere. Maybe plug that line and run a vented gas cap n call it good.
But wont it still stink , Have trouble with juice gushing the filler cap as it was going round a bloody corner , put double rubbers on it for a seal , was thinking of something on the end of the bloody vent, carbon canister ? or what ever is out there , i cant be the only one …

I read that with the accent.

Surprise it’s not vented to the frame rail. I think a vented cap is not a bad idea. It really shouldn’t smell.

In the latest Hagerty drivers club mag (long tossed out)

There is a canaster you add to your existing vent system that allows full venting but reduces / eliminates the smells

NO. The original vents worked fine. WHAT ARE YOU working on?

If you plug the vent and use a vented cap you are inviting spill over onto the fender on hot days/ full tank

Whether the vent tube ended in the frame rail or just "down there" should not matter a twit as to smell.

I almost suggested some sort of carbon can. I didn't know anyone marketed them for this

If it smells other than gasoline, your tank probably has old fuel in it that varnished up and yes it`s rank and will eventually break up and clog up the system.
