Well, if you were alive back then like many of us here were, you would understand that today is a lot better than it was back then. Idealizing the past is a false perspective.Well let’s see, 50 years ago, America had sent men on the first trip around the moon, a few months from now, we’d land two of them on the moon and return them home.
Wouldn’t be a bad time to be alive and be an American
All very true. I’m just saying it wasn’t a bad time to be alive is allWell, if you were alive back then like many of us here were, you would understand that today is a lot better than it was back then. Idealizing the past is a false perspective.
They weren’t “simpler” times...they were more primative times. Back then, you wouldn’t have ever had a chance in hell of connecting with the people here, much less have a real understanding of the World past your community. Medical technology back then would have failed to save probably 20% of the People on this forum if they were the age they are now back then.
The best time to live is now. The past...is past...and the future is yet to be.
I want to go back and live in the stone age in a cave actually!Well, if you were alive back then like many of us here were, you would understand that today is a lot better than it was back then. Idealizing the past is a false perspective.

More door Indiana get it!If I were doing that, it wouldn’t be a more door with a 318...
I lived in Indiana for a couple of years rebuilding a grain elevator that had exploded next door in Danville Il. I parked trailer on Wabash river. I was a young buck and had just got my journeyman card. Scale was 16.50 back then (early 80s) we were all wearing bell bottoms! Hah! They gave us DT to speed up the project. I used to look at my check and think to myself I can retire at 40. Ahh youth, shame it is wasted on the young.
Had more money than I knew what to do with
I started in 1978 at $4.51 an hour. I thought I was in the money!!My rate as an apprentice step 1 1977 $6.00 .. That was 60% of journeymanHad more money than I knew what to do with
