Stop in for a cup of coffee

Happy Friday to all. Short day at work but will be a very busy day. Have a couple dump runs to make, then an appointment, then picking up a 1969 Satellite to bring home, then guy buying all my left over rat rod stuff, then....it will be nice all weekend so the work can begin.
 
Morning all, coffee is going down good. Should start warming up now, 70s by the weekend. Need to get busy on my truck and trailer.

On plus side we got to shoot first round of the year at skeet range yesterday. We had gale force winds but decided to shoot anyway. Not sure if it was wind or testament to how bad our Team is but I was high shooter at 21. Gonna be a long season we shoot like that!
Forecast for sunday is starting to look like rain..
 
I've stopped drinking coffee regularly a few months ago... but I don't seem to be able to kick the coffee club habit. Read a little almost every day but cant keep up enough to have a current conversation most days.
I'm running out of time to get a few pieces on the car before the show. Now I have to drive down to Texas to see my folks next week. Would have been nice to ride on fresh new seats, but that won't happen.
 
I've spent the last two shady mornings, getting the mold and mildew off of my neck rails. I mix one part bleach to three parts water in a pump sprayer. Wet down the deck, so it doesn't get s bleached. Then just spray mixture on rails and let soak for a few minutes. Hose of with garden hose... No pressure washer needed. Still a lot of work tho. One third left to do tomorrow

One of the few beauties of living in the arid desert, mold and mildew are not much of a problem.

Now washing the blowing dirt off everything, that's a whole different matter.
 
Trying today was down hard yesterday when I got back home. Got a distrib in the mail for rebuild, I think, no idea who from no note in it at all. Some how my e mail got corrupt and cant get all the saved e mails back? WTF?


Yep I always include a name and number with something I send in...just common sense and piece of mind.


Is there at least a return address on the box that it came in????

I used to subscribe every year at Mopar Nats so I could get the free T-shirt, but haven't gone to any shows in a few years...

I like collecting the shirts every year from the subscriptions... :D
 

Swap meet is rain or shine. Wont know until sunday morning.
Die hard guys will be there,may need to dig out my rain gear.

So you raise car,reset carriage and place car back onto it?
Basically yes, but first you cut 4X4s to wedge under carriage springs then place place bearing block device of some kind so when you pick Bearings don't fall out of carriage then pick car up off of carriage. Snatch carriage out from under car. It weighs right at 10,000 pounds all by itself. Then pick up carriage and set it on tracks, then roll under suspended car that is you have swung back over tracks. Drop car onto carriage center shaft reattach brake rods and wa la! The whole carriage is assembled utilizing the weight of the car to keep it together. Pucker factor is always zero on first pick as you do not know how the load inside the car is positioned. Theoretically it has self leveled during transit. Tipping rail cars is bad! Pix below is carriage center shaft. Whole car sits on that. The sheer mass of weight even empty locks everything in place.

That officially makes it a Bigass Crane.
It is, you can look at the size of the block as it compares to the size of men standing by. Funny thing a long time ago in a post far away a guy was giving me crap for the size and "cost" of my tool box. I gently explained the amount of tools and rigging in my box simply makes a average Harbor Freight box no bueno! As often times that same crane snatches my box then swings it a couple hundred feet up and gently (hah) places by whatever I am working on that day. Crappy boxs fold in half!
