In addition to the other artwork I've shown I also do colorizing of old black and white photographs. It's all done by hand and takes about 60 hours to do one like this...

Here's one I did for a Vietnam Veteran's project. It is the only known photograph of the Kit Carson Scout Kim Dane that I restored for them...

E-mail me a high resolution scan of them and I'll see what I can do with them. I never charge, but maybe you could find an original tire iron for my GTS for me. Mine was missing when I got the car.

Nice job on the pics Ddaddy. I think my wife paid $50-60 to have a pic of her uncle restored a few years ago. I thought the result was a complete piece of chit. Looked like a cartoon zombie to me. Dont think there are any other pics of him to get it right, but damn. I sure hope he didn't look like that!

Very cool talent or gift one could say. Photos are so easily damaged and lost track of. It can mean so much to someone to have them restored, I know personally. We found a dirty, faded old photo of the boat my Dad built, out sailing with my Mom and me c.1964. Stumbled onto an old guy with a thick accent who digitally restored it, what you guys do to preserve history for people is amazing!

Yeah, I've seen a lot of hack jobs out there. Photo restoration can be hard to do and there are a lot of tricks I have to use to get them to look right.
I actually started doing it to preserve some of my own old family photos and slowly got good at it. It's kinda cool to be able to restore my old car pics and have them look good again.

I think it's best to capture digitally but hard to do before we had digital.
I wish I had more pictures from when I was a kid but moving around lost a lot and my birth family is being mean to me by not giving me old stuff pertaining to me. :banghead:
I had to take a picture of a picture with a digital camera on some of the older ones.
This is one of my favorite memories, I don't remember exactly what year but I think 1994 or 95 when I was like 8 or 9

The biggest issue with old photos is the emulsion on the paper changes colors and fades unevenly with time. Even old negatives begin to change, but they tend to hold up better than prints do. Sometimes you can do a new print from the old negative and it will look like it did when it was new. I also have a scanner that can digitize prints, negatives and even slides.
