Stop in for a cup of coffee

-
don't matter to me, but I am sure who ever made you a gold member did it because you are a sweetie with a whole bunch of talent.

I'm sure you are right about whoever <cough, cough> graciously made me a Gold Member.

I just need to maintain my artistic integrity and respect the gift of GM too...and the "Blue" forum isn't a place to do it. ;)

I just got a PM from a member about our thread here. Here's his question and my response: Hi -- That's a neat thing, but I have to ask -- With 36,*** replies and 391,*** looks, does that tie-up resources for this site - -- Thanks

My response:Re: Stop In For A Cup Of Coffee
Not really. Much of it is text and not high resolution photos so the whole thread doesn't take up much server space. It's really no different than a thread like "Word Association Thread" with 44,000 replies and 887,500 views. That one is huge and doesn't even have anything about cars. These threads are who we are at FABO. It's a place where friends hang out, even stop in for a cup of coffee. For example, there's 6 or 7 of the coffee club guys getting together next month to help one of the guys put up a hoist in his garage. The Coffee Shop has taken on a life of it's own. Almost like a neighborhood within a big city. Stop in sometime. I'll buy you a cup! Mike

Hello. Every body go to bed?

Hey, I'm still up, barely! Thanks for shedding some light on a question some people might have. I agree, this is a great thread and part of FABO, Joey is the owner so no one else needs to concern themselves with those matters.

I missed Daddy becoming a gold member. Congrats nan. We'll deserved.

That's why the t shirts were made they way they were.
Coffee color. Negative for the car. Because some members view us as a negative. Overflowing coffee clp on back with cartoonish character because we mostly kid each other and have fun here. As you said though a lot of good info and member help is also passed thru here.

Agreed. The guy seemed to be concerned about server space. Lol
If Joey wants to free up some space he can let us go in and delete thousands of 10 year old sale threads. Lol

Love my limited edition T-shirt OMR, thanks again for such a fine gift.

Was a great day, no stress, quiet. Back to work tomorrow, see you guys over tomorrow morning's coffee.

Fusible link smoking. I love that thread title. Let the smoke out then! Lol

Hejigen,

Tuula

Sorry to keep you in the dark, Dave. :D

/Anders

Good morning coffee drinkers!

I'm surprised. Only three pages or so over night. :protest:

I'm also surprised to see that members have expressed concerns about this thread. What could they possibly see as a problem? It's not like it is a closed elite group of some kind.

And regarding server space, I'm sure most people have no idea how much text and 37 kB pics you can fit on a 1 TB drive ... :D

I found the Mopar Performance valve covers I bought from a member for $75 + $20 shipping on Summit for $112.97. Made me feel kinda stoopid.

Then I checked the price here in Sweden. $249 + shipping. Now I'm thinking I should buy a set of new ones and sell the used ones over here to fund them. Since I'm already shipping a set of valve covers overseas, adding one more pair probably won't increase the shipping cost that much.

Good morning Ray!

The customs have a say in the matter, too. I can't expect anyone to send stuff over to me and lie about the value of the contents for me so I'll need to add the toll fee (only a few percent, though) and 25% sales tax on the total amount.

Yes, we have 25% sales tax on most items in Sweden. But we all get healthcare and free education up through university so I'm not complaining.

a lucrative loophole so to speak - - too early for the math -still sipping :coffee2: 1 - so you could put new on your car essentially for the price of used..?

Depends on what you are building. I actually try to find nice used stuff for my car. Even when new is available at reasonable price. My goal is to build my '75 as it might have looked around 1980.

Good morning!

g'morning - yea, I typically go nice used if I can find it - but I'll spend the $$ on new too if and when I "need" to - - you're a little late this morning aren't ya?

Morning all. 80 degrees today. Good day to wash the car.
