Stop in for a cup of coffee

It's another notchback. not sure what engine it had originally, looked like a V8 K frame though

BH23E7218XXXX

no rust as usual for this area.....all emblems and tail panel chrome is missing.... floor has rust where the heater peed on the floor.

Bucket seat, console auto car.

Has a 7 1/4 ....so i bet its an original slant six car

body is complete which is a plus

Bh23E7...

That's a 273 4 bbl car...

May be a formula S... Look for front sway bar or at least mounting tabs on lower control arms for them...

Too bad it's not original engine in it, Commando valve covers....

i stashed it in a top secret storage spot because if my dad sees that he is going to flip out because he said no more cars ......so shhhhhhh!!!!

ok, good to know I am not missing out on anything if it was just a 273 car.

I didn't recognize the E engine code, I have never seen that before.

I figured it was a 318 or something for 67 because I know 67 had different codes and stuff

Just a 273 car? In '67 that was the engine to have! If it's a Formula S, it's a nice find!

Is it a notch back like the old one I used to have back in '84?

318 was not available in the Barracuda until 68.

In 67 you could only get a slant 6, 273 2 bbl. 273 4 bbl, and the first year of the 383 4 bbl...

The Formula S only came in 273 4 bbl or 383 4 bbl.

My 67 fastback had the 273 4 bbl with trailer tow which included a 3.23 sure grip 8 3/4 as an upgrade. I think the 7 1/4 was standard with the 273, but you could option the 8 3/4 heavy duty...

If it's a Formula S, then you will have larger torsion bars than the slant 6, and more leafs in the rear springs was also part of the formula S package...

Find a larger copy of this and read the story behind the "shortcut"...

If anyone notices the similarity between that Shortcut image and some of the stuff I have done for folks here, now you know where I pulled the style from. It was a very distinctive style used by Mopar back in those days and I've tried hard to learn how to replicate it in new images. :)

Although, I think maybe I do it just a little better than they did back then...

Good day all!!:coffee2:

T-shirt arrived!:blob: I only picked it up yesterday, no time for a pic.... perfect fit. I promise to take pics and post today.

Well done saving another Mopar Rani! I would love to own a Barracuda, but has to be a '64-'66. Love the rear glass, so unique. The '67'-'69's are very popular in SA, therefore higher prices...

Owning a Mopar is sometimes frowned upon here, something else than the ordinary Chebby and Furds commonly found. Classic car fraternity asks; "You know parts are rare and expensive, why buy one?". I guess they never owned or drove a Mopar.. uneducated/jealous?

Anyway, I need to go dust the Monaco and Charger...promised to take my niece and brother for a cruise in both:burnout:.

Later.

Ters.

The Barracuda grille in that picture is a 1968... Only 68 had the vertical slits in the grilles...

But the rest of the picture is great!!

Hi Ters...

I used to get teased all the time in high school by the Chevy and Ford guys... Just ask them if their car can beat a 426 Hemi and they usually get real quiet...

Howdy fellas! First time in over a year I have thrown more than a few back. I'm feeling a little loose and got mopars on my mind!

would it be possible to make the plate on the car have the 67 Plymouth heart??

I bet a lot of older guys remember the jingle "Plymouth is out to win you over this year" New barracuda for 1967.

Then in 68 Petula clark started working for Chrysler and it was "the Plymouth win you over beat goes on" ...."and the beat goes on" :D

I didn't realize there was a 273 2 bbl. AND a 273 4 bbl.

I have a local friend with a 273 2bbl. in a coronet and when I ride with him, I feel like I have to get out and help push the car to get it going :violent2:

I myself, have never had a 273. This is the second time I get a 273 car but both times the engine was missing, so I can say that I have never physically had a 273.

I get kinda sketchy with small blocks because I don't know small blocks all that well.

From the beginning when I was raiding my uncle and parents old salvage yard......they had a lot of C-bodies with big blocks.....so I know big blocks real well and I also know slant sixes well because I have had and ran 170, 198, and 225s before so I am real familiar with those.

small blocks, my dad's cuda is a 340 car, I had a duster with a 360 (not original) and a 318 truck before but my time with a small block apart is limited and I don't know casting number or anything in depth about small block like I do with BB or slants.....kinda weird.

I did rebuild a 318 before but everything that was on the engine went back on ...no mods, everything lo-po and stock LOL
