Stop in for a cup of coffee

I just found one in Ludlow... hummm...........

I know they are out there. My family is from southern NH and some of my wife's is from southern VT. I also have a friend up there that has been getting Dyno work done and he lives near Derry NH.

My Speed shop guy here is selling his Dynojet and computer system for $25k if you want one in your garage...:D

Yep, It had a chipped corner when I bought it. So just fixing that up and then I have to start test fitting it to contour my hood right.

Is it the center twin from the beak cars?

Get it to fit right and it should look great on your car!

Spring is in my brain...I just pinged my Speed Shop guy about doing a swap to front disc brakes on my GTS.

I'm all manual drums now and I'm tired of standing on them to stop. Either I keep the drums and do a power brake upgrade or swap to front discs.

Discs appeal to me because of the fade resistance, but I don't drive it that hard.

Just doing research at this point, probably won't make a decision for a few more weeks.

Go discs. Modern stuff on the road stops real fast compared to our iron. Nice to have some stopping power when some asshat cuts you off...

I am inclined to agree with you, I'm just not sure if I need power disc or if manual disc is enough to get where I want to be.

The other part is that I will probably need to swap to 15" wheels from the 14" I have now. That adds cost and then forces me to decide if I want to keep the stock wheel look or switch to the Aluminum slots like my old Dart GT 340 had...

so yea I decided on the cop wheels, now I just need to decide on the cop caps or the plain button caps

and also I need to determine the road wheels are shot.

The bolt holes on the road wheels do not look right to me ...they seem enlarged, However I was looking on ebay to get a flavor of what they might be worth and most of the ones I saw for sale, actually look like the ones I have.

either way, I put a pair of the road wheels on the car and then stood back and honestly, I wasn't really enjoying the sight.

So I think either the rallys or the cop wheels will serve my purpose better.

It's a lot of work trying to decide on things ........in 4 hours of debate in my mind ...I am pooped and ready for sleepy time already.

Maybe I just need a mountain dew to supercharge boost up.

On one hand I think I should just move on to other parts of the car but then something stops me and I think I need to make up my mind now because other options and accessories will depend on choices made now. Even the color is a huge factor because certain wheels look better with certain color......just like certain stripes look better with certain colors.

It's amazing the stress of deciding stuff each person who bought these cars new had.
I would drive myself nuts if I had to order new when I didn't have much time to think about it.

Each car has a personality and this personality is made up from options, colors, accessories and so on. .....so it is vital to get it right!!!!

The power is not necessary, but i like it. Mine is very stock with a strong vacuum signal at idle. Power brakes work great. Mine are just factory 73+ power discs, but it's night and day over drums. And they fit behind 14 inch wheels just fine.. great upgrade, cheap if you shop for parts, and still looks factory-ish.. unless you paint the calipers red!

Cars do have personalities. And when you 'build' one, you decide what that personality will be. As long as money is no object, you can build your best friend. If you (like almost everybody else) constrain yourself with a budget, pick all the traits you hate and avoid them. Then you at least end up witha friend you like most of the time..

And Mt. Dew is the devil's juice. Stay off that stuff. It's worse than crack...

I drank that stuff for years. Loved it. You don't realize how much of a drug it is until you quit...

surely one vice in life isn't so bad right?

I don't drink alcohol and I don't smoke and I try not to do anything else I will regret so what is a mountain dew here and there :)

I actually like the diet mountain dew more than the regular stuff......the diet seems rougher as you are drinking it but the regular one sticks with you even hours after.

My wife just came in and read what I was posting and looked at me for a second...then she smacked the back of my head and said..

"You are being an idiot! You didn't buy this car to keep it some sort of stock looking show car, you bought it to resurrect the old GT 340! Now stop being a wuss about it and get the aluminum wheels, lift her ***, put on some big fat tires and slap the disc brakes on her so you can driver her hard and stop fast!"

Then she grinned and before she left, she said "Oh yeah, and make the exhaust louder...let 'em know your are coming and scare the hell out of the neighbors!"

Then I just sat here stunned for a moment and realized 2 very important things...

1. She's absolutely right, it's why I bought the car and it's exactly what I need to do.

2. She is a very good woman!

:D

Quite the score sir. She's a keeper..

I just think that 'colas' of any kind are one of the worst vices there are. Sure cigarettes, alcohol, hookers and ****** are bad, just not as bad for you as Mt. Dew...

so I am going to be building my first automatic.

I have only messed with automatics in auto school in transmissions class.

What upgrades are highly necessary on a 727 ??

There has been a change of plan on the duster, because I sold it to my cousin but he is paying me to put it together which is main reason behind the automatic because I would never put an auto in unless I had to.

I still get to option the car however I think

The 727 is very durable and doesn't need any upgrades unless there are failing parts. The biggest thing is to adjust the kick-down linkage properly so that the shifts are firm and don't stress the gear bands. The proper adjustment is described in the shop manual but you can find Vintage Chrysler YouTube videos that show it too.

OK, here is where I think I'm going to go.

I figure around $2800 to do the wheels, tires, brakes and exhaust...

So I should give up drinking pop and take up hookers instead.... :toothy1:
