I never met her but have heard she was a sweetheart. Geof is such a great guy. I bet the family is devastated. Losing a parent when they are 92 is one thing, losing your child really has to hurt. @memike met her.

Here is something I need an answer on. At first we started the old truck with a 8 volt battery but it died after a lot of use. so we jump started the 6 volt system with a 12 volt. Now even fully charged the 8 volt won't turn the engine over fast enough to catch. An old tractor owner said we have fed the 6 volt starter with 12 volt cocain and now need to get the starter rebuilt? Thoughts?

6 volt starters have heavier windings than 12 volt. They tend to turn faster, but thats about it. I had a good conversation with a rebuilder many years ago, said polarity and voltage wont hurt a starter. I ran 12 volts to many a 6 volt starter, my cockshutt is a perfect example, cantankerous to start, especially in cold weather. 15 ish years running on 12.

The 9" diff in those wagons is rumored to be a "drop-in" for an ABody.

I found some seat belts for the 64. I don't know if I should just get the ones to clip on the existing rings or get some that bolt to the floor like regular belts.

The VWs we raced liked the 6v starters on 12v, but they didn't live long.

There are 2 of the wagons in a junkyard within 30 min of here. I will need to see if rear axles are in them

The stock type bolt on belts are $300 and another 70 for hardware. Nicer for sure but.......

Windlace is going better, i had to redo parts of it, and using upholstery nails is way better than staples. More work,but more accurate placement. Think i need to shop around for an upholstery hammer.

I can't speak for the Harbor Freight quality, but in general, those are a very nice set. The larger sizes will extract pipe fittings and they are short enough they won't usually bottom out before they get tight.

My complaint is usually the quality...i.e. how close to the actual wrench size the wrench is. Not had much of any issue whith hand tool breakage. Drill bits tend to be " not great"
