Your absolutely right, air rifles MUST be shot 50 plus times before setting sites, I own 3 and the 177 reaches farther and straight compared to the 22 cal. 22 is good for knock down and shoot great for 40 yards, maybe 33 yards, with zero fall off. Shoot it to burn the packaging shipping and storage oil out of the barrel.
I've only put a few rounds through it so far but will do as you say and go give it a workout today.

I will get my tack driver out, had it 7 years now and (No fib) best shot off a tree trunk drop down dead at 53 yards with the 177 caliber single pump ruger rifle, the scoop cost me 11 bucks more then I paid for the rifle

Damn! I'm pretty sure I could never match that, but then again, both of my air rifles are Gamo brand (not Ruger), and have el-cheapo scopes on them.
