Stop in for a cup of coffee

so the idea to wrap electrical heat tape around the water line didn't work, only comes in 3, 6 and 12 foot lengths, cant be cut down. 3 feet was way too much, even if wrapped. so I just pulled the cap and drained the entire line out. Framing starts this week supposedly so hopefully it wont be a problem much longer.

aw phooey! seemed like a good idea.

One last kick at the pumphouse. Cleaning it up and a layer of blue styrofoam on ceiling. Ron is doing the ceiling part, one piece left to go up. Have to find the mouse treats, little bastards are somehow still getting in.

They always find a way in and yes the little bustards are a pain to get rid of.

I was using the round traps where you spin them to set them and they go inside and it spins closed trapping them inside. The little bastards would chew a hole in the top and get out of the trap. I bought some new plastic traps. They have a little cup to hold the peanut butter and you just pull the lever to set them. I caught one the other day. They seem to work well.

I have 5 mouse traps in the house but I put one outside on the back porch and it seems to catch them before they get in the house.
Well so far anyway. They defiantly love peanut butter.

I use two types around here. The old Victor stand-by's, in areas I can easily see/get to:

And these 5 gallon bucket things, with about 4-5" of antifreeze in the bottom, for places I can't/don't want to check frequently:

I live 3 blocks away from a grain elevator and really surprised I don't have a big problem with mice.
Never had a mouse in my garage so far but not taking the chance and lay traps in there.

The buffet is open right down the road. No reason to mess with you.

I wonder if bait when there's no signs of rodents, does that draw them when they otherwise would leave your place alone?

Good question.
