Since the Aspen has the tranny torsion bars up front, do the Schumacher type swap motor mounts work? Not that it's an option in CA, frickin' Smog regs . 3 pedals and a hole in the floor is a good place to start .

They SMOG test that far back? I thought they stopped at 1981.

thats nuts. My 78 w200 had no emissions stuff as trucks were exempt until 1980.

Since my '79 Yota 4x4 had to be smogged and the cadilac converters were in their short life span stage, shortly after I bought it the converter and exhaust got removed and stood up against the garage wall and replaced with a turbo muffler . When DMV sent that first notice it had to be smogged I put the converter back on with the turbo muffler behind it . Smog tech went nutz trying to find the tail pipe
