Stop in for a cup of coffee

No clue as to the BTU, it's just a little bit smaller than your average electric convection over/stove combo.

My idea would be to essentially run a tarp vertically about 24 feet from one end of the shed, across the entire 40 ft width, then drop the ceiling height using another tarp from 16 feet to 12(top of the lift) essentially making a 880 square foot room to heat vs 3200 square feet.
Harbor fright has tarps , roughly 100 bucks worth of their heavy silver tarps would do it
The calculations are as follows:

Stove output=30,000 btu per cubic foot of firebox size
Heating requirements are 10 btu per cubic foot of heating space to increase temp 50*F

Your proposal is around 10,500 cubic feet which would require 105k btu. If the stove is a 4 cubic foot fire box, it will put out 120,000 btu which will raise the temperature by 60* F.

I own my own tanks, so nobody can dictate price to me. I will shop it around , if I need to. But the guy I have now is pretty good. $2.00 gallon
Same. We own ours, well I should say my mother in law owns it. We get a heck of a deal locally here. We had it filled in September. It was some 400 gallons and if you pay within 10 days, you get 10 percent off total price and if you order and pay before Labor Day, you get an extra .10 cents off per gallon. We ended up paying 373 bucks all told for it this year. But that's cause it was still over 50 percent full from last year not using much.

Sweet!! I'd be happy if it raised it to 40 lol. I also have a 150,000 BTU kerosene salamander heater

4 cu ft firebox would be very small. Plus, quality of wood.
Im sure it will make a difference.

I ran pellet stove a little on the high side today,8 hours burned 40 lbs of pellets. So about 4.00 to warm up shop.

A few years ago , I was using a different provider. I had to stop him, cause he would drop by and fill tanks at random times. You know... top em off... Well that was ok when they were charging me 2 or 250 a gallon. But one spring... After Winter, ya know... They come by and top off my tanks, and send me a bill for $4.99 a gallon..LOL... So I called em ,, and told em, if they didn't reduce the price to $2.00, I wasnt payin, and you can come and take it back. LOL... Whadda think they did ????

Jeez, (watching the city council meeting) Regardless of the reprocussions, I wouldn't blame my wife and every other department head yo get up and walk out.

is that why your tank was empty?

Yeah, they were only suppose to come when I called. I guess they got me confused with customers whose tanks they own...LOL
Went to a different vendor , right after that...

Did that with heating oil once. I only ordered it when i had money to pay it. Was burning wood, had no need for oil. So they had to negotiate as well. That was 25 years ago...

If it's a magnetic float gauge, the needles have a tendency to stick sometimes. If you run a magnet over the face of the gauge, you can make it swing across the full range a few times and often it's enough to resore the gauge to working properly.

No... I really think the gage is haywire. Showed 30% on Thursday...empty on Monday...WTF????
Or a leak.

Then again.... with this cold who knows. I know the truck this afternoon when I left work was sitting between half and 1/4..... I drove about 1mile and the fuel light came on, dummy me wasn't paying attention to the trip meter and apparently the float or gauge got stuck in this cold over the last week. Talk about timing though. It was the last station out of town for 35 miles. That could have been very bad.

The other thing the magnet sweep of the gauge dial does is let you see if the needle hangs up anywhere (even briefly) and helps indicate a sticking dial.

Good morning critters. Goona get back into the 50s today! Breaking out the shorts and a t shirt!
It is 20 this morning, I don't think we will see 50 for another week :BangHead:, glad you are going to have warmer weather there Ben, Good morning sir :p
