Stop in for a cup of coffee

I used to know that! Rough day around the house, spring (or is it summer) cleanup, hop strings again, the tiller for the tractor kicked my *** to get it cleaned up and on alone. I did not use it last year so it needed a complete cleanup. It is 4 ft wide so hard to get mounted on the tractor alone.

Hi George. Keith I wold just mock it up the same distance back and see how it looks. My DS has a stud on the rear of the mirror that goes through the panel and mounts with a stud and a front 10/32 screw that goes into an insert I believe in the front.

TMM,
Did you add one to a car that didn't have it originally? Same style I pictured? I'd be interested in what car, placement, any particulars...
I read a few posts of guys saying they can see, can't see, use back-up plate - or not.
The one I'm getting has no glass in it. I'm thinking I will look for convex glass like modern mirrors. "Objects in mirror appear smaller...".
Thanks,
Keith

I added mine Keith. The early A's are pretty picky as to where they work the best. Mine just sights down the side of the car with the mirror adjusted all the way to the left. I would like to try a spot mirror because the stock mirrors are so small.

Looks like the junkyard run is later this week, Ron's lower control arm mount on his wagonneer needs some rot repair where it mounts. Boom Booms tomorrow so looks like it is welding day over here! Pretty common from what I can tell.

They sell a kit for the jeeps, just to much for a few plates. Kind of like the a body lower control arm stiffeners. We just put a used motor in it over the winter and he always gets lucky it looks like it was rebuilt around 10k ago for 400!

Good morning! Beautiful day here...I'm off Monday's which I guess makes it worth having to work Saturdays. Slept in till almost 10 yikes!

Spam Jerky report: because it's greasy, it doesn't really come out like jerky. I pressed it with paper towels between two cookie sheets weighted town afterwards. It would make a good snack on a road trip. Tasty but not life-changing.

I want to find the right size convex for the whole mirror. I think its around 4.5", not just the little stick on 'spot' mirror.

I used to have them fixed at glass places. I am not sure about convex though. 4.5 will work? I will se what is around here when I go to the stores.

4.5 is a guesstimate. I would have to measure... I think it may be slightly bigger. I'll measure the glass on my DS, and then check the back plate when i get the PS with no glass in it later this week.
