Stop in for a cup of coffee

They have a new report out that bacon and sausage cause cancer. Guess I'm doomed.

Didn't they say that eggs were bad for us at one time, then they said that they were good later... #-o

They don't know... :???:

I feel bad for the local member girl here, Nadira.

I helped fix her car last month, and she was supposed to come back after Oct 8 for some more. I haven't heard from her, so I texted her yesterday to find out that her car broke down and she tried to call me. She left a message on my phone mail on Oct 11, but I rarely check my phone mail and didn't get he message....

So she took it to a local "performance shop" and they changed the new fuel pump that we just put on in Sep.. And adjusted the choke on her car. I suspect that they did not do it right. It doesn't snap shut like it should for the first cold start. I bet they just tried to set it a notch or two richer....

She's going to put it in storage for the winter soon, but she's gonna bring it here next week, so we can make some adjustments on it...

She's also having trouble with the power steering groaning. I think it's leaking fluid, we need to figure out from where and see what we need to do to fix it....

I hate to hear that shops keep changing parts that are already been replaced. I think they are just pumping her for money....

It seems that the repair shops try to pump the customers for money.... It's all about getting as much money out of them as possible instead of fixing their car....

Well said. I had my best customer shop rebuild the front axle on my tool truck. The $6000 bill was hard to swallow but the $300/each front brake hoses and $625 for 2 front calipers tipped me over the top. The shop owner is going through the bill and I will talk to him today.
I can get hoses at NAPA for $45/ea. and loaded calipers for $75. I feel I have been violated!

Morning.

The only time I'll use a shop is if it is a newer car and I don't have the time to fight through it. The only shop I will use is the one my family has been using for over 20 years. Once you find a good shop dont loose them and always refer friends.

I've got a very good shop nearby my place. The young ambitious owner was a customer in my Parts Business. Very honest and is there working on stuff himself every day, despite having 4 other guys working. If I was on my death bed, in the hospital, I would let him work on my Wifes car. I just sent him a 5 hr radiator job on a Volvo customer of mine, simply because I just didn't want the hassle of doing it myself. I send him anything I don't want to do, or takes too much of my time. It's refreshing to see a young entrepreneur working so hard and making it. Instead, I'm doing an all around brake job on a 2012 GMC Terrain today. All rotors and pads. I love to just pick the Gravey Jobs ! :D:D:D

Where's Anders and Ters this morning???

Hi there!

I'm lurking. Actually, I got up late enough that there was no chance of having any US coffeedrinkers present and I know Ters has early habits so I just read through the night's chatter. Then I spent an hour boxing up some stuff for 65dartcharger and left that at the PO.

Just found my crank pulley in the mail box. Yay! Needs to be shortened a little but since it's a Moroso billet pulley, that's easily doable. Once that's done I can actually start my engine!!!
