Stop in for a cup of coffee

I just had one walk by my window, I think it was hunting me, lol.

There's tons of acorns this year, the rain washes them into the back yard and the deer come. The squirrels are overwhelmed.

I wish you could buy ground deer meat around here. I'd love to eat some of that sausage/bacon.

Hi there!

I'm lurking. Actually, I got up late enough that there was no chance of having any US coffeedrinkers present and I know Ters has early habits so I just read through the night's chatter. Then I spent an hour boxing up some stuff for 65dartcharger and left that at the PO.

Just found my crank pulley in the mail box. Yay! Needs to be shortened a little but since it's a Moroso billet pulley, that's easily doable. Once that's done I can actually start my engine!!!

Also lurking KK.... Car trouble in the family. My wife's Hyundai snapped it's Cam belt....son's Datsun burnt valves or something, Monaco has master cylinder issues. I have taken leave from work to get at least 2 of the 5 running without issues. My trusty BMW never misses a beat though! See you all in the morning!

Ters.

I feel bad for the local member girl here, Nadira.

I helped fix her car last month, and she was supposed to come back after Oct 8 for some more. I haven't heard from her, so I texted her yesterday to find out that her car broke down and she tried to call me. She left a message on my phone mail on Oct 11, but I rarely check my phone mail and didn't get he message....

So she took it to a local "performance shop" and they changed the new fuel pump that we just put on in Sep.. And adjusted the choke on her car. I suspect that they did not do it right. It doesn't snap shut like it should for the first cold start. I bet they just tried to set it a notch or two richer....

She's going to put it in storage for the winter soon, but she's gonna bring it here next week, so we can make some adjustments on it...

She's also having trouble with the power steering groaning. I think it's leaking fluid, we need to figure out from where and see what we need to do to fix it....

I hate to hear that shops keep changing parts that are already been replaced. I think they are just pumping her for money....

It seems that the repair shops try to pump the customers for money.... It's all about getting as much money out of them as possible instead of fixing their car....

plus they probably labeled her "car dumb" the minute she walked into their door.......very typical....ask me how I know about that.

Especially if younger guys (like my age LOL) are running or working at the shop who think Hondas with "naaaaz" is cool.

Rainy day here. Not to be confused with Rani's Rainy day, which is every day.

Morning all. Rain yesterday, sprinkles this morning, cold front blowing in this afternoon. The last local car cruise tonight. It's supposed to be 45 with 25 mph wind. I'll bet not many show up. I might cruise over early for a short time......with my winter coat on. lol

Staying up all night working on the car sure catches up. ....I was energetic all night and now the coffee isn't helping at all.

I am out to mopar dream land

Have a great day everyone

Hi all. Just caught up on the thread...

It's raining here also. Which I'm glad. I'll tell you why....

Yesterday, I was helping my friend Doug with his new house. We made a couple loads to the new place. Then we went to lunch and came back. His father -in-law (John) was cutting the moldings/trim for the bottom of the walls. John is a contractor that builds garages for a living.

I am good at measuring and cutting, even with the angles. I volunteered to help John do the moldings, but he was hesitant to let me. So while he was busy measuring up one part, I went and measured a couple of short pieces and cut them to fit. I got them real close with minimal gap. Then I did a couple of boards with an angle and they fit good.

We then started working together and got in a zone. Once I got used to how he marked the boards (I like to cut just inside of my line, he likes to cut outside), we had them fitting like a puzzle. He stayed on the ground while I did the running back and forth and cutting the next piece to fit. We banged out the trim in the hallway in less than an hour.

So there's still more trim work to do, but John has regular customers to attend to also. He said that if it rains, he can't do his "day job", and will come do more molding at Doug's new house. I told him to give me a call if he is going to work on Doug's house and we can do them together like yesterday. So if it keeps raining, most likely he will be working on the trim....

He's trying to have the house ready to move in by Nov 1, but he's had a few set backs and that may not be able to make it that soon, but we are going to try to get him in as soon as possible....
