The forecast was 30 over night but I know it was low 20's. If they freeze when cut the success rate goes way down to like 20% so I do not sell them. Just *** pain to re dig more.

Did you dig some already? How come they cant freeze in there, but they are fine in the ground? I think you said mine might have gotten tagged by the cold last year. Only 2 of 6 survived...
Think I might start storing them in the drier I can set the temp and forget it.

never tried it, never will - to me it seems like watching baseball on TV - boring.. I know, not a popular opinion - to each his own..
Once they are cut they do not have any reserves to rely on. I know weird but that's the way it is. The roots are around 4' average and I cut them to around 6" for sale. Remind me lift day and I will give you some more if you want them.
