I have never seen a cool small unit that installed you power pole before Karl, I wonder how well it would fight the rocky ground around me on the hill. Very cool indeed :glasses7:

Good morning sir :coffee2:

I thought that was Karl's engine hoist he let them borrow.

Yeah, that thing was cool....

It had rubber tractor treads, a walk behind cable remote control along with the ones on the panel that I showed in the pictures. It had an auger that drilled the hole to put the pole in, then the arm lifted the pole and set it in the ground. Then they filled in loose dirt to get it set and then transferred the electrical wires over...

That lil sumbitch was a one stop shop to install a utility pole. I bet it would go well on rocks, some of the tread slipped and skinned my grass and left bare spots. They will grow back in time, We leave tire marks in the back lawn all the time moving cars... It may grip better on rocks vs grass with wet ground (luckily it wasn't fresh rain...) We are gonna get two days of rain starting today... Lucky the pole is in...

Now we have to call AT&T to move their wires to the new pole and remove the bottom half of the old pole...

Now that you mention it, I should have stolen it from them to do engines.... I bet it could with that arm on it. Use that as the boom, it's plenty strong enough for an engine if it can pick up a utility pole...

That's awfully close to your shed/garage. But I guess moving it would entail splicing the cables. Not a preferred move.

I'm lucky this one was owned by the utility company.

The guy across the street had to pay for it out of his own pocket when his pole fell about 6 years ago... Because it was on his second empty lot next to his house and only serviced his house, he "owned" it and had to cover the costs himself...

Luckily his son is in commercial construction and pulled some strings to have it installed....

Then this winter a high wind storm blew a tree down next to the new pole and snapped his new (6 year-old) pole in half... They couldn't put a new pole in because the ground was too wet and sloppy for the truck to get back there (it got stuck and left deep ruts in his yard)...

So they rigged it up temporary until they can get to it sometime this spring/summer...

I feel sorry for him to have to get two poles replaced so soon...

I have a friend that works doing these poles here in the county Karl, I saved a couple pictures to show him, and ask why we don't have these for tight places and yards, a big monster truck is all I have ever seen.

Here is the base image I've created. I've already made a bunch of adjustments to it trying to be ahead of the curve...

Hi Dave, I didn't logon at all last night. That image will work great. You got the color GG1. Mine has a black vinyl top. Since the car is so dark, I want to use red stripe big radial tires, my plan is to do a red tail stripe and the red background GTS emblems, which will all match the hood inserts.

Good morning Mitch, here on the hill it will hit 68 degrees and very windy, shop time for me today :glasses7: after spending half the day at the E.R. with my wife #-o She will be fine and I believe she will stay home today (some kind of flew bug) and will be waiting on her hand and foot as she needs her rest. Looking forward to getting things dun this weekend :color:

Thank you Mitch, I do to bud, nothing like watching my mate feeling bad :pale:.
I saved for 9 months to get this great set up delivered to me, I liked the idea of the bigger single piston MoPar brakes, I should have them on by Saturday :color: I am up in the air on what kind of paint I should use on them before I install, two tone silver and mat black.

I agree. I switched over to the 73 and up disc on the GTS. Haven't gotten to really drive it yet. Also I did it because Sue will be driving this car some, when I finish the Cuda, so we can go to shows/cruise ins together.

Does anyone have a thought on what kind of paint I should use on my new parts ?

Mike, I usually just use semi flat black Duplicolor reg paint on that stuff. I think, any kind of "special caliper" or "high heat" paint is unnecessary.
