Stop in for a cup of coffee

Yes they are and when they come up behind you during a emergency they disappear in a real hurry. I have a acquaintance that is a Highway Patrolmen and he said he hasn't driven a squad car with so much performance for decades..

I have a new appreciation for the new Fiat Chargers.

with my new job I get to hang out with a lot of law enforcement, and a guy I know drives a new charger made for law enforcement. Its like the same color as 1970 K5 burnt orange. (plain wrapper) It has a spot light, bucket seats without a console. In the middle where a console would have gone is a computer and a shot gun. Then you open the trunk and in there is some riot gear and some more goodies. It has the light bar in the upper back window and some more in the grille.

It's mega badass to say the least
Like I said before, I bet if you ever drove my '06 SRT...you'd never give it back!

My friend's '07 Charger Daytona doing a burnout at the track...

I owned 1/2 of this SRT8 at one time. Long story. Chipped with headers. Rocket ship! I can't imagine a Hellcat!

Yeah, I think most people don't really know the performance numbers on a 6.1L SRT8 or understand what beasts they are...

0-60 mph = 5 secs
1/4 mile stock, 13.1 secs
0-100-0 mph = 16 secs
60 mph to zero = 1.9 secs (about the time it takes to yell "stop now!"... and you are)
100 mph to zero = 3.0 secs
Skid pad = 0.87g
425 hp, 420 lb-ft tq
All that and 20 mpg highway

Tony, my partner in the rebuild, (it was totaled) asked me one day, "How fast does that thing go?"
I said, "hell, I don't know for sure. I had it over a hundred in 6th. at 2400 rpm. It redlines at what, 6?"
Tony grinned and said "hell I had it up over 145!" I asked "what gear?" He said "Hell I don't know. 5th. I think" "maybe 4th." **** goes by pretty fast at that speed"

What the SRT is capable of is why I bought it...and why I will never sell it. When it was introduced in 2006 I saw the ultimate Mopar version of the Hemi warrior and after nearly 11 years of ownership and 120k miles of daily 24/7 driving, I have fallen completely in love with the machine.

It's capability has thrilled me...saved my life in hairy situations on a number of occasions by brute force of acceleration, handling and braking...and most of all, it still makes my heart race and puts a big stupid grin on my face today just like it did on the first day I owned it.

I will drive her until one of us dies!

Wow I'm going to have to drive one of those new Chargers or Challengers, I rode in a 5.7 Charger several years ago and liked it then.

Well the life celebration for our Dad was all I hoped it would be; my sister said it was perfect. I overheard many of his friends remark that Rogers would be very happy with it. I had forgotten that Dad worked on the airport building, it was all volunteer and he did the plumbing and electrical. Everyone there spoke of him in the same high esteem and they were very welcoming of us. I gave a pretty good tribute without tears and my two stepsisters added quite a bit of levity with their stories. The cold and misty rain made us feel sheltered inside. The big photo album chronicle of Dad's airplane build we left there at the airport, where it should be.

That's great David!

I'm glad it worked out well and was a fine day of remembering your Dad...that will always be remembered by those who's lives he touched.

It doesn't get any better than that!

So I have been looking at my GTS and decided that since the front torsion bars are now adjusted at 80%+ of travel just to maintain stock ride height, they need to be replaced.

I'm thinking of going with Mopar Performance .890 bars and dial up the front to match the stance of the SS rear springs I put in recently. I think I want the car to sit mostly level and be able to accommodate the 15" wheels in the future. I think I want it to sit something like this...

You have a great eye, Dave, for what will look right. As long as the handling doesn't suffer.

Thanks! I think with the .890 bars, the front handling will match with the SS springs in the back now. But I am always open to different opinions if someone thinks otherwise.

Of course, I'm not doing autocross with the car, just spirited street driving. :)

Morning all, some great stories last night for sure. Dave look at the pst 1.03 bars have them in now and when I had the slant really like them they seem just right to me.
