not sure if i should laugh or what.

we replaced the fridge friday night, old one the compressor locked up, the thing was a collossal POS on top of that. Well I hadnt had a chance to take it to the dump and it was sitting on the back porch...... someone stole it either overnight or yesterday sometime

Awful nice of them!
Firefighter buddy of mine had a funny deal kinda similar. His station is in a shall we say.....ghettofabulous/ Joe Dirt kinda neighborhood. They got new furniture for the station, and had no use for the old stuff. Mind you, it was in good clean used shape, just aged. It was all in better shape than the stuff in 90% of the houses and apartments in that area. The guys put it all out on the curb with a sign that said "free to any of our neighbors". Several lazy boys, a big wrap around style couch with the recliners built in, and a coffee table that matched. The stuff sat there for almost a week. When my buddy's shift came back on they pulled the sign and replaced it with "for sale, $200". Nothing happened, slow morning with no calls. Late afternoon they headed to the store to grab supplies for dinner. Everything was long gone when they got back about 30-45 minutes later. So the running joke is to get rid of trash in that area, put a price tag on it.

I did the same thing with 2 bicycles. I put them outside my fence off of a busy street. They sat there for days. I hung a $50 for sale sign on them, gone that day...

Can't say I ever had anything stolen here,, but they have no issues taking stuff off the lawn for free.
I have seen similar mentality though. People assume if stuff is too cheap there is something wrong with it. If I put stuff out super cheap at a yard sale people seem to walk right by. Jack up the price and they figure its good, and procede to talk you down in price. Lol

When I was in the Parts Business, we used to hold training sessions by the Manufacturers for the Installer Customers.. You know..HVAC, Electronic Ign, Chassis, ETC.. Couldn't figure why we got low participation....Then we started charging $50 a head, and the place was packed...

Worked in a grocery store years ago. The Tonys Pizza guy put a sale sign up on his stuff, 4/$5... normal sales.. put up another sign below it that said 'Limit 15'. Couldn't keep the freezer stocked. People bought em like crazy.. i doubt too many of them considered that they probably lacked freezer space for 15 damn pizzas! But they couldn't pass up a deal like that...

Good evening folks!

Crappy weather here tonight, it's 40° and raining buckets...yuck!

Time to warm the cockles with some nice cold beer!

Bout same here except a few degrees colder. Frickin raw out there. Just hope it's not an ice rink in the morning.

Back when I had my Auto Upholstery business I used to do annual "Spring Specials" with vinyl top replacement for $125 (20% over normal price) with free pinstriping (cost me $5 and 15 mins to do) and I would always hook about 20-30 people on the deal. Then I would "upsell" half them into body side molding or a headliner replacement at the "Spring Special" price (20% over normal).

Since most people only ever got a vinyl top replaced once, they never paid any attention to regular pricing but the "Spring Special" sign would draw them in like flies to get the "Deal"!

Same temps here. But dry. Supposed to be in the teens for next couple mornings.. and 60 degrees by the weekend!

Yeah, temps are dropping here in the next few days. The rain started as sleet here before switching to buckets of water. Raw now followed by cold later...blech!

Consider yourself lucky there Benrickster, gonna be in the 30s here all weekend.
