You can get a grease gun made to use bulk grease like that. You probably could repack a standard grease tube, but it's likely to be messy. No reason it couldn't work though, give it a try.Stupid question. Think it's possible to repack empty grease tubes with grease? I've got close to 50gallons of high temp, water proof grease used by a Diesel engine maker for their stuff. Full synthetic and all. It's all packed in two 25 gallon steel drums. Thought if I could repack it, I could then use it in my grease guns and start making a dent in this stuff
Here you go Chris...

I rented a car at O'Hare in the middle of winter once a few years back. Summer tires and only water in the wiper fluid canister. That was a lot of fun when I came onto I-80 and tried to spray the sleet off the windshield in 15 degree weather ...

Who are the morons running the rental agencies?
No thanks to Hertz ...Couldn't have been all that bad. You survived.
I'm not displeased in any other sense, it's just that you'd expect a car rental agency in Chicago in the winter to equip their cars for winter - or not rent them out. Summer tires and wiper fluid w/o alcohol in snow - and everyone knows snow is the norm in Chicago in wintertime - is a recipe for death.Never had a bad rental experience. Then again I've never used Hertz.
