Said a prayer this morning for one of my guests, and I need to apologize to the new pastry intern. I had a lady with Celiac disease, well we have a brownie dessert where they have a gluten-free brownie they can use, but this girl just assumed the one we normally use was gluten-free (!!!!) Something just made me go back and check after the food runner brought out the dessert...I had to run out and the lady had already eaten it...there was fear her eyes and she said "you've got to be kidding me, you don't know how sick I'll be and I'll be on a plane tomorrow." All I could do was say how sorry I was and send the manager over. But I let the pastry girl have it, "you know my guest will be suffering because of you, if there's something that makes you sick, why don't you eat a bunch of it right now so you know how she is going to feel!" Mistakes happen I know, that's one mistake she won't make again, but young people need to stop letting their phones do all their thinking for them.
Don't worry too much about it. My sister has that as well. She has emergency pills for just this thing.
