Stop in for a cup of coffee

Just kind of fell into them. Did a distributor machine then put my distrib on it. Word of mouth went by that I did distributors, became a part time business. A lot of times when I find the machines there are others mostly scope types that the people act want to give away or dam close to it so started doing them also have about 15 large machines and prob 20-25 smaller cased type meters. Thought they would sell fast at Carlise last year. Nope was like I had a Museum. Did sell a bunch of the smaller ones now so that is what I am getting. Just fell into this one actually and it was to good not to buy.

That is really neat. We have a friend who collects old machining equipment. Old screw machines, gear hobbers, long bed hobbers, drill machines, etc. All the old WWII style huge cast iron ones. He said you can build the new machines with the old, but not the old with the new. Something to be said about that philosophy.

Tell you what on our cars a scope is the way to do diagnosing engine problems. Basically you can check out all the cylinders and determine which one is the weak one in a few minutes.

That is something I have never tried. In my job, we have full computer systems watching the engines. Every parameter to verify everything is working as it should.

An old scope would be a nice piece for the shop.

Morning.
High winds and snow most of the night.
Looks like a cold day today.

It would be neat to try sometime. I don't run mine like we do at work, but I see what we can do and monitor. So to be able to do that on a mechanical engine analog style it would be very interesting.

Look around on craigslist, there are a bunch here for sale everyone that has them has no idea how to use them and want the room. From grandpas shop usually.

Saw a few at the swap meet lat year, may take a closer look if there are any this spring.
The one i tried to get, i offered what he paid, but didnt bite. Then offered more and he never replied.

I will have to keep an eye out. Nothing I have ever looked for before.

If it has a cabinet and fires up 500 is reasonable. Cabinet is worth 300 all day long. Guys use them to put their tool boxes on, about the same dimensions as a lower tool cabinet. Hey @Ddaddy have a picture of yours?

The few newer machines i saw (cheap) were the size of a double decker bus, no room for that. And if i was putting something oversize in my shop, would be alignment machine.

I have one of those weighs a ton and takes up a lot of room. Mounted it on the wall, works great though. Ron is using the cabinet as a workbench/storage. Never again.

Second one is a good deal. Keep away from the interrogators they use old floppy disk specific to each car. PIA in the long run.
Morning Chris.

Good Morning. Happy Saturday
Hope it turns happy. Woke up to a series of voicemails and texts. A long time friend and fellow Vet is missing. Dude is a combat vet with severe PTSD so I don't see this ending well.
