Stop in for a cup of coffee

I don't catch it really easy But I hate that stuff. And from what I understand, you can get it even from a dead vine. If I really mess with it, or have any open skin. Usually little scratches when I am out working is where it gets me.
But, as you know...The real issue is that the vines eventually kill the tree. Then I gots more problems...In the past, I've cut maybe 6in out of the vine, down low, where they attach to the trunk. Kills the vine, high in the tree then...

Most of the firewood I have now is from 2 large oaks that fell. The guy told me his neighbor is extremely allergic to poison oak. So they spray it. His property runs close to their house and he allows them to spray. Not sure how far gone the trees were when they started spraying. They have apparently been doing it for many years, and the trees are all dying. This is a heavily wooded area. I got 2 by the road. Another demolished the neighbors shed.
I expect they will keep dropping. Not sure if I will be able to take advantage of it though. I have chimney problems. Probably going to get a chimney guy out here to check it out. Keeps cooking out stinky water by the thimble when we use the wood stove. Plus it looks like the clay tile is out of position. May have been that way from day one, but I don't like it. My biggest concern is the other flue for the oil burner. I'm afraid if I keep burning the wood stove, I could mess up the oil burner. The heat pump aint gonna cut it in Jan/Feb.

California Hillbilly remedy for Poison Oak .. Seawater. Takes the fire right out of it. Granted, that does require being close to an ocean or sea. Must be the combination of salt, heavy metals, bacteria, fish poop, nuclear waste, petroleum residues and raw sewage that relieves it.

Sounds wonderful. I think I will just itch. ThanX.

Yeah I’m really just wanting out all together.
Stay in what 5-6 years and do your 20. I know age 60 seems a long ways off for a 32 year old, but the medical coverage and a $1000 or so a month will be well worth the time. Then someday you'll think gee glad I listened to old ZMan.
I have several friends who when we were younger I tried to get to join the Army Guard. One did and he's thanked me for talking him into it. The others who had to go get another job after retiring for insurance coverage wished they had joined.
Its a PITA some months, I know I did it 33 years. Its only one weekend and two weeks a year.
The benefits in later life are well worth the time. You can't have too much!!

I’ve been talking to them about a one year extension, they say I can. I really do like this new unit after coming from nearly 6 with a shitty unit 3 hrs from home. If I do keep going, it’s gonna be a year at a time... that way if the bullshit gets too deep, or the knees keep giving out, it’s not long till the end.

gotta love gas points
