Hey guys. Made up to the north woods WI. Will be nice and relaxing for the next couple days. Hope all is well for everyone.

There was firewood talk earlier while I was catching up. Maple is by far the best for firewood. It doesnt burn quite as hot as Oak, it it can be burned sooner and will leave a nice bed of coals in the morning versus just dust like oak.

Evening all.

Hey, if anyone is talking to Wolfie, tell him thank you for the gift.

Nice day for a motorcicle ride, so I did :D. 2 trips to 2 different communities Christmas shopping for goofy type gifts and nuthin' :BangHead:. At least I got in a last ride before Christmas. I have got to find an "Ugly Sweater" just for motorcicle rides during the Holiday season . Lots of Hot Rods out there today :D. It's time for an adult beverage or 3

Ifind more red oak available for fire wood, but we do have plenty of Maples around. I have 2 on my property I plan to take down soon. A small Norway out front that is dying. And a big Silver out back that is more of a nuisance and not a great firewood (but will get burned once I resolve my chimney issues)

That Red Oak is the bomb for a BBQ pit made for wood. OR keep the bark chips, soak them in water for an hour and throw them on top of the charcoal. Makes great smoke for flavor.

Trying something new. J Henry &Sons Burboun from WI. Never heard of it. Good over ice...
