Finally at home with a beverage.

Fantastic trip! Ramie did me a solid on the sunroof (actually sunroofs!). Ramie and Dana are great folks...

Pete treated me like brother! Burgers and beers and more Mopar than I have ever imagined! Between his collection and Jim's Taj Mahal of Mopar, I was in awe!

Sublime John! What a character! One of the nicest SOBs you'll ever meet (and a badass mopar fabricator). He and Jodi (and Monkey Boy Aaron) treated me like a celebrity! And they let me make out with Hemi!

Didn't get to spend a lot of time with Mike, but in two hours and a few sips of rye, I think I found Ben Drinkin's sidekick! I'll be hanging out around the trunk of Mike's Swinger at future car shows!

Lot of windshield time, worth every mile. It WILL happen again!

Good to hear you got home safe. It was great that you could stop by for a chat and a sip or two.

Glad you had a worthwhile road trip! Even though you dang near forgot about the whole reason you came up this way! Hahaha. It was great to meet you and we enjoyed our visit with you!

Well I know it won’t do any good, but I wrote my daughters teacher a polite, but blunt letter about this common core crap they’re forcing on them. I use advanced math daily for engineering and I can’t even figure out 1st grade Common core. Like what the heck does HPT O of 48 mean? Google was no help

I taught my daughter how to do it the traditional way when she came home with that homework. She didnt even understand why they are teaching her such a long confusing way of doing it..

I agree. And now it seems math with a close answer is good.
I wasnt good at math, but have a great memory for numbers.

That’s what I’m doing. The work sheet they sent home said to time students, 5 minutes to solve 50 problems. After I thought my daughter the right way, not the bs way, she had all 50 done in 3 minutes.

Last week was half e learning at home as a prep for the winter. I have a feeling we’re going back under lock down in the next week or so. But as I pointed out in my letter, I work with 9 math majors turned engineers, no one has time for that common core BS.

I rocked at math up until my junior year in highschool. Got bored with it. And never did figure out what the heck the point was in factoring. So I failed algebra 2. But aced trig, geometry, Calc, and Finite. I loved finite. At IU, that had a 78 percent first time failure rate, highest of any course at IU, I passed it with a 94 percent. It’s all problem solving, odds and thinking outside the box

Just a little water supply line leak turned into a block long, 2 day long project. Finishing up with the whole street shut off because of a 1906 vintage valve that wouldn't shut off.

Calculus was my downfall, 2 unsuccessful attempts in college. I found that I really didn't care where all those proven formulas came from or how they were proven  Just give me the frickin' numbers an I'll give you the answers

I bet your popularity was soaring on the block! Hah! Fix it now, fix it later, but either way you are gonna have to fix it!

Awesome!!!

I hope to be able to make a trip someday to get together with you all...

Evening all. Already been inside a tank this evening looking at a dump valve that looks simular to the one shown ( @toolmanmike ). Electronic indicator says its all the way open. Valve and analog indicator say its closed. Go figure. Took 5 minutes to do the job, 2 hours worth of paperwork and counting.

I tried to teach my oldest son the old school way of doing math, but with his teacher showing him the "new" math, he just got more confused...

They need to go back and teach the math the old school way, it works...

That's how my simple seal change for the faucet in my shower went this summer...

I ended up having to change the cartridge which is obsolete and they have a new design to replace it... This faucet is from 1961... $300 for the kit to do that - I had to go to a special plumbing supply store in the city to get it and there are no refunds...

They supply a tool to get the old seal out of the housing in the kit which is like the heater hose nipple with the two slots... When I tried to change it, it wouldn't budge, so I decided to call the professionals... The seal was in there for so long and was so tight, they broke the removal tool trying to get it out... :BangHead:

Then they had to cut the pipes and wall and install a whole new faucet... I couldn't even use the replacement cartridge that I paid $300 for...

The good side, the check valves in the pipes were so corroded with calcium that they were stuck and not functioning... I think we found the crossed pipes that was back pressurizing the system... That was fixed with the new faucet... Luckily the new base plate for the faucet covered the hole that the guys cut in the shower wall and I didn't have to do any repairs to the wall...

But I still had to run the water in my back bathroom for three minutes or so to get hot water, even though we have a return line on the new water heater (replaced the month before) which is supposed to help get hot water through the system faster... Then two weeks after that was done, there was some air in the faucet that came out and since then my hot water is almost instant... I can get hot water in my back bathroom sink in 10 seconds now... :D

So even though it turned out to be a larger project (stemming off replacing the water heater), the good side is everything is now the way it should be... Piece of mind... :D

So if anybody needs a cartridge for a shower stall from the 60's let me know, I will work out a good deal for you.... :BangHead:
