Stop in for a cup of coffee

Just checked the rain gauge. 4.10 inches since yesterday morning. 6.5 since Wednesday. With two more days of heavy rain. We’ve had more than our spring average in less than a weeks time. Largest flood for our area was in 2008, at 20.13 feet, that resulted in the Marines and Guard evacuating the entire town via Amtrak and Helo. We’re at 19.55 feet currently. At 19.75 , the dams over flow.

Now they did build some levis after 2008 to divert the flood waters from town but then they allowed new subdivisions to be built where the water is going .

But here, we’re fine, for it to flood us, flood stage would need to be over 700 feet. We just can’t go anywhere haha
