Stop in for a cup of coffee

soo.. i'm curious... i see these guys doing some crazy oil mods on small blocks like this guy does.... for a street beater staying under 6000 rpm any of you think this is needed? I wanna get my stroker bottom end done this summer i hope... i really need to get off my ***.. i wanted it done last summer :)

Not needed for your purposes. My 2 cents

A waste of time and effort.

Dad ran my Demon with the 340 to 7500+ while drag racing. 456 gears and 9" slicks. Other than 580 lift, how radical for duration @50 are you looking at?

I might stick my head under the dash today and see what I need to do to pull the blower motor and cage out. Every time I turn on the fan I need to rake the leaves off the passenger floor.

Haven't really thought bout it much since it's months or more away.. but seeing as i will stay under 7k for sure.. nothing to insane. I was just planning to ask cam advice when the time comes so i can get 75 different opinions :) My current cam is just .050: 227 / 235 in the 318.. so nothing bad at all (on a 109)..

main problem is my entire idea of what i was building changed half way through from normal street gears to stupid gears and i had already got this cam. Stupid gears are just more fun :)

Here ya go... it looks the same as my 62.. it's super easy except one bolt kinda hidden up top... i had my seat out though :)

Also, i took my motor apart and cleaned/greased the bearings but i'm sure yours is ok.. mine sat so long i was afraid of dry/hard grease

I gave Bullet Racing Cams a call. They were great, asked lots of questions. For the Charger, I need to kill a bunch of torque but make upper RPM HP. They came back with a solid flat tappet 263/271 @50 with 597/620 lift on a 110° centerline, but installed at 105°. Should be pretty wicked. If I go that route vs boost

nice, are you putting the motor together right now? or just swapping cams? I assume solid roller... I picked my cam to try to get good tq out of the 318 cause i planned on keeping the stock 2.94 or whatever gears, cam sounds crazy but drives nice and no complaints so far but not a ton of miles on it

The motor is together for the first runs. The cam was spec'd in case we don't go to boost. It is non roller, solid flat tappet. Would match that with Trick Flow 270 heads. Unsure about that, but to meet my overall goals I will need boost. Current engine, with retarded timing, C16 fuel and 18-20psi boost should get me there.

Jesus.. 20psi.... soo manly :) hope it works out

If not, the announcers (and apparently the main reason the crew chief is making the trip to help) is to be able to announce a pending "yard sale" when it scatters all over. lol

Turbo friend, member here, and the Engineers at work agree with the recipe to hopefully make it live - for a bit. Just need a 5 mile pass to crest 200mph. Then decide if we are serious about going fast...
