Stop in for a cup of coffee

We used to sell Hastings Alternators and Starters and their other rebuilt products back in the day. Was a great Company out of North Carolina. To mitigate the flow of defect returns, they supplied you with an Alternator tester. This obviously helped with defect returns and also verified the customers original unit as deficient. Then there were the "clock" positions of the GM Alternators. We carried all of the different ones, but in a pinch, I could disassemble the unit and " turn " it to the desired clock position. Learned to disassemble other makes as well and change out built in regulators and rectifier bridges, brushes. But nothing we could really do with the armatures. Need a lathe for that...and other testing equipment....
Need to spin em up for sure. Had an alt that worked at idle but armature would go open at higher rpm’s.

Morning!
Another nice morning here.
But Sitting in airport waiting for our flight. Small airport, gates just switch numbers as required.
guess its time to do springtime things when i get home. And this weekend, temp is going to be in the 80’s.

Wal Mart run done. Polara alignment next. I hope the front end parts are all good and not just rattle canned in gloss black. . They look fresh.

Car is going back together...................

New front shocks, Relo bracket mounted on the firewall and valve covers back on and bolted down.

Need to still put the new MC on and finish up the brakes. Then new plugs and wired up and ready to go.

Good morning, got news last night that we are driving over to Mother in laws in Oklahoma and bring her back here for my granddaughters graduation, wife said she can go get her but would like me to ride with to take her home, we will see, she will be here for 10 days. I was blessed with a sweet caring mother inlaw so that's no problem for me.
Hope everyone has a tuned up Tuesday

You gotta a place to stay if you need a rest in the middle

Man we jusrt had some crazy weather come through... been a bit windy all day.. then 50-60mph and sheeting rain you can't see through.. for like 10 mins.. now it's calm and the suns out

Was watching my trees at home, i think none came down.. i have like 15 HUGE pines that stress me out.. i need to get some removed

Not too bad. It could use upper ball joints. Just a little loose. Add it to the list. Damn, I did see the right brake lights are out. I remember seeing a freyed wire back on that side. Hey, what do you expect for 60 year old wiring.
Least uppers are a quick job

It sure does drive better. The front eccentric on the right side had slipped out of place and the caster, camber, and toe were all out of spec. I still have a pull but it seems to be in the power steering. You can start it on the alignment machine and the power steering will turn the wheel to the right. I remember reading something on here or B Bodies about that. Like a spool valve adjustment in the gear.

Oh and alignments have went up since I was in the shop. $150 now.
