Interesting though...Sounds good, just inspect every part... nothing to it after the first time
Whomever did the rebuild on the old V8 one was pretty poorly done. I think i know why there's all the crazy steels and clutches... the thrust washer was missing between the clutch pack and the front planetary.
Searched the bench and went back through the photos. Nope

It took me a minute.
The front pump thrust washer on the old V8 was out of tolerance as well from what I'm reading. Range is 0.061 _ 0.063. It is 0.044Yeah... that's the joy of transmissions.. everytime you open one you don't know what you will find
My small lathe has been very handy, making bushings or shafts to repair stuff.

yeah.. i wish i had a bit more room, i would even love to have a small table top lathe for making bushings/spacers and stuffs....
Mr Pete 222 is an excellent instructor when it comes to machining. Watched a lot of his youtube videos.
Looks like Jeff's place in Az. (the guy I bought my Polara from) I would say just perfect.

Looks to me like a load bearing press for sure!That press will be nice to have here, but that BEOTCH is heavy. I will probably need to take the Bobcat to pick it up...............................plus the garage might fall down when I move it.

Light rain all day yesterday, had snow this morning.
Looks like evacuation order will be lifted this evening. 10,000 acres burned just east and north of me. Buddy has been working support for the fire,its life-changing for him. He knows every inch of the burned area,being a municipal employee for 25 years. Devasating.
Still have the kid’s car in shop, working on getting the pt wheels on it, turn rear drums is on the next agenda.

Snow? We got snow. Near 100 f on tuesday to 32f today.Good morning, just above freezing here and had to turn the heat back on.
I finally got a Hummingbird at the feeder. A lot of people have commented that they are slow to arrive or non existent this year. I need to straighten out the lid on that feeder.
Rear drums were fine, so i left them.

Did a quick drive by at a car show today. The early A bodies is a guy that surfs FABO. The 66GTO is really a Tempest I think but it was georgous!
Old one missing or new one you need? Not ideal if it's the one you need..................
Missing in the v8 ... I have it from the core. Just finding a lot of things wrong as I go. Surprised it moved the car at all
