Stop in for a cup of coffee

I had never thought of the comparison before. Lots of shops here have waste oil burners but I did have a customer that had a corn burner. It really burned hot and didn't seem to use a lot of corn (but I don't know that for sure.)
I had a corn stove and yes you're right burns hot.
I had a bunch of Rye and burnt that in the stove for a short time and it's even hotter burning than corn.

There’s the diesel heater, running. Wide open it burns 1/2 litre per hour.it gets incredibly hot. Tote has battery, fuel and heater. I can roll it away when i dont need it. I want to test it in the quonset, maybe useful if i need to do a little work out there. Warm the hands and tools maybe. View attachment 1716478087
That's the heater you found on Amazon, Frank?

I'd be interested to see what it looks like when you set it up

I would have to make some whiskey from that rye! LMAO

Never thought of that at the time and I grew 80 acres of it. :BangHead: :BangHead: :BangHead:
There are a lot of variables but it takes about 3# of grain per gallon of whiskey made. A bushel averages 50# so about 16 gallons/bu. Rye yields 30-50 bu/acre so let's be conservative and say 30.
80 acres x 30 bu/a =2400 bushels yield X 16 gal/bu = 36,000 gallons. (or 680 barrels) Damn, that seem like a lot of rye. That makes sense. When we went to J Henry Distillery, they mostly raise seed corn but just a small part of their farmland is used to grow the corn, rye, barley, and wheat that they use in their spirits.

I find it fun to do the math.

Damn that's enough whiskey to last me a long time. LOL
I'd like to make my own one of these days just for fun.

Merry Christmas to me!

Jail bird son just called and is in Devils Lake only a 50 drive to go see him.
Looks like I might be able to bring him home for 12 hours a day.
First time I bring him home we will have steak dinner with all the trimmings.
I'm excited!!!!

If he's interested, maybe teach him your bodywork skills, Fred. If he's anywhere near as good as you are, he'll have a steady job for the rest of his life, and without having to advertise.
Thanks for the nice comment Jim. This is my youngest son and he is more liking the medical field more than pounding fenders.

Laundry and house cleaning day here but managed to stuff the 63 against the wall and ready to start on, "The other side"
Sometimes I think it would be better if cars only had one side.
