In the bowl is a traditional Tet dish that most of them make. It is pork and hard boiled eggs that are cooked for a very long time and they become almost caramelized. It's actually pretty good except for the fat that's on the pork. She pulls that off for me and gives me the lean meat. LOL

Evening football watchers. Made it to 40 today but the wind made it very cold out. Just did some cleanup in the shop and figuring things out on the D150.

Thanks, Bob!

The windows are actually local: Scherer Brothers Lumber out of Arden Hills (NE of Mpls, and NW of St Paul, more or less). When we bought the place that exact sash was miscolored and damaged due to having been shot with a BB, and one pane was broken. The sash was rotted as well, and I was afraid we were going to have to replace the entire window.

But when I called Scherer Brothers they said they could make a new one that would match perfectly. And they did!

We’ll need new windows in other parts of the house in the next two-three years, and I’ve been looking at Andersen, but they’re high pressure sales tactics (they contact us all the time) are a turn-off for us. May just go back to Scherer Brothers.
Go back to your Scherer Brothers. Sound like quality may be a bunch better than the Andersons. But knowing how stuff operates, maybe they are all the same. S-I-L bought windows for her town house...$28K! I don't think they have more than we do. Ours were 10K and that included a "bow"(?) window in the living room. Maybe they don't age well.

must be. I'm up early as Im meeting with an Army JAG officer this am to review my board packet for potential retirement.

Then I get to go check out any potential damage from the storms we had last night. went Tornado warned a few times last night. Hoping to have survived any damage on the new house.

Except for me. I went over to district one today which is near the city center for some business and then I went to the German restaurant for some Wienerschnitzel. Was quite good..

I know youve mentioned it before. But I'm curious, I was just reading a book that talked about the pure hatred the VC had for Americans and South Vietamese people and the sheer brutality of the war. Are there still any underlying resentments towards America or has the war become a forgive and forget thing?

Morning!
-25, no wonder Ocean paused at the door before she went out. Hooe to get things wrapped up on the mini excavator today. Or not, there is a cushion valve i need to install. And no parts im sure. Have to research and make a list of fittings.

Not only do they forgive and forget all of it. They do not even teach it in the schools to children. Most people here don't know anything about that war. They welcome Americans especially and all westerners with welcome arms. People here in Vietnam are much friendlier than they are in America. I know this from experience.

I figured as much. This book was written in 1978 so I'm sure its outdated. Interesting that they dont teach about it.
